North Myrtle Beach
If you’re looking for retro beach nostalgia with a splash of high-rise hotels, then this grand section of Myrtle Beach’s Grand Strand is the spot. As the epicenter of 1960s Carolina shag music and culture, here you can still dance the night away at plenty of beach music clubs, fish, or just visit the classic Cherry Grove Pier, play a round of golf at plenty of courses, and still fall asleep to the sound of waves through an open balcony door of your luxury condo or home.

Hilton Head is known for luxury, but the beaches often get overlooked in favor of golf or grandeur. They shouldn’t. It’s hard to imagine a Carolina beach that is better than this, wide, flat sand where the sunrises are spectacular, a splash pad, changing rooms, and walking distance to shops and restaurants. There’s even porch-style swings where I can sit and take in the great people watching, so I may never leave.

Litchfield
Quiet, serene, and with a relaxed upscale vibe, this Georgetown County beach is an idyllic place to park the family for beach week. The ease of proximity plus quieter crowds is the thing here. Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park, and Murrells Inlet are mere minutes away, but this beach offers the chance to truly park the car for a day or two and just enjoy the fun and sun surfside.
