Description
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned career and internship programs within the Office of
Career and Internship Services. The Program Manager will ensure alignment with institutional priorities related to student career readiness,
employment outcomes, and experiential learning. This role will implement strategies to strengthen and expand career pathways, including
internships, apprenticeships, on-campus employment, and Learn and Earn opportunities, while promoting both new and existing programs to
students. The Program Manager will also support continuous improvement efforts to ensure services are efficient, effective, high quality,
and student-centered. Additionally, the Program Manager will advance the Center’s partnership efforts by representing Career & Internship
Services at community, employer, and industry events. The Program Manager role is designed to support a range of work-based learning models,
and specific programmatic focus areas may evolve based on departmental priorities and organizational structure.
Duties &
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned career and internship programs.
- Support multiple
work-based learning modalities, including internships, apprenticeships, on-campus employment, Learn and Earn initiatives, and career
placement activities, as assigned. - Ensure alignment of programs with career readiness standards, institutional goals, and workforce
needs. - Support recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of instructors, facilitators, and employer partners.
- Serve as a
primary point of contact for student inquiries related to career services, internships, and employment opportunities. - Serve students
using an asset-based, equity-centered approach that promotes access and inclusion. - Assess student readiness and support placement
into internships, employment, and career development opportunities. - Monitor student participation and engagement; provide referrals
to appropriate academic and support services. - Evaluate student progress in achieving career readiness competencies and program
outcomes. - Collect and analyze data to monitor student outcomes, including job placement, retention, and career
progression. - Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements to enhance student success and employer
engagement. - Collaborate across functional areas and with Career & Internship Services staff and campus partners to ensure alignment
of student career pathways. - Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, community-based organizations (CBOs), and workforce
partners to expand opportunities for students. - Participate in student recruitment and Open Registration activities.
- Provide
timely and professional responses to phone, email, and in-person student inquiries. - Deliver presentations and workshops to students,
employers, and community partners on career readiness and employment pathways. - Collaborate with the marketing team to develop
materials and campaigns that promote career services programs and opportunities. - Update marketing materials, including flyers,
digital content, and website information. - Attend college and community events to promote and recruit students into career
programs. - Participate in campus meetings and serve on committees, as required.
- Maintain accurate records and data in
accordance with Roxbury Community College policies and systems. - Support tracking of student engagement and outcomes through
institutional platforms. - Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Required.
- Maintains knowledge,
experience, and skills in career services, workforce development, or related program areas. - Demonstrated ability to manage programs
and coordinate multiple initiatives. - Committed to continuous quality improvement and student success.
- Passionate about
career development and economic mobility. - Demonstrates a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving and
innovation. - Has three-five years of experience in career services, workforce development, higher education, or related
fields. - Experience in one or more of the following areas: internships, apprenticeships, workforce development, career services, or
student employment programs. - Excellent written and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build
relationships with diverse stakeholders. - Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with data
collection, tracking, and analysis. - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in
Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree Preferred
- Experience working with students from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds who
possess a wide range of academic abilities and interests. - Prior experience in an urban community college or with diverse
populations. - Experience with online and hybrid courses.
- Bilingual (Preference for Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, Cape
Verdean-Creole, or Portuguese). - Valid Driver’s License
