Position Summary
Provides strategic leadership to create and
implement career readiness programs in order to bridge students, faculty, campus partners, and external organizations to ensure students are
prepared for professional success. Directs curriculum development and enhancement, external partnerships & internships, and co-curricular
programming. Performs all duties in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of
these duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students.
Hiring Range
The budgeted salary for this
position is $76,736 to $85,000, dependent upon experience
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development &
Enhancement
- Leads career-readiness initiatives, including the career-focused curriculum, Passport program, and
co-curricular offerings. - Manages undergraduate career-ready course sequence in addition to supervising the
course-coordinators. - Enhances and integrate career-ready curriculum into the graduate program.
- Collaborates with academic
leadership to integrate career competencies into the undergraduate and graduate student experience.
External Partnerships &
Internships
- Serves as the primary contact for companies seeking to engage with Barney School of Business students through
internships, job opportunities, and career events. - Builds and maintains strategic partnerships with local and regional employers to
expand experiential learning opportunities. - Oversees internship coordination and serve as the Barney Handshake coordinator.
- Explores career and internship opportunities for international students.
- Gathers and monitor data to report student placement
statistics. - Partners with Office of Marketing and Communications to amplify student placement.
- Works closely with members
of the Allan Center for Career and Professional Development, and key campus partners, to ensure alignment with university-wide
initiatives.
Co-Curricular Programming
- Designs and launches innovative programming that aligns with
industry expectations. - Plans and executes signature career events, including but not limited to, Etiquette Dinner, Corporate Visit
Day, Barney Hall of Fame, Veru Symposium, and Norgaard Networking Night, Corporate Visit Day. - Serves as the liaison for
Barney-specific programming such as Hawks Take Flight, Hawks Take Off - Expands and targets career-ready programming to include
graduate students.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teaches between 9 – 12 career-ready credits per academic
year, depending on department needs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
