Job Duties:
Develops a comprehensive employer recruiting communication strategy, cultivates key partnerships, and establishes an extended professional network to effectively promote and market students and programs to local and national employers. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
Maintains professional network of employers and other stakeholders to facilitate internship, graduate program, and employment opportunities for students. Provides students with coaching and mentoring throughout the recruitment process.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Proactively develops relationships and working knowledge of relevant industries
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for on-campus recruiting activities
- Serves as a point of contact for prospective employers providing advice and information about recruitment, engagement, hiring students, and addressing their needs.
- Participates in the campus-wide career services community providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college
- Provides students with information about internship opportunities, career planning, and/or employment opportunities and/or coaches students through the recruiting process

Additional duties specific to the position:
- Provides education via individual appointments, presentations, and group informational sessions in various modalities.
- Advise students in exploring graduate school research, preparation, application through in-person, virtual or phone appointments.
- Document appointment outcomes, notes and time tracking within associated systems.
- Appointment coverage related to all career services functions, which may include resume and cover letter reviews, preparing for career fair, registering and profile development in Handshake platform, job and internships searches, interview preparation, and/or career closet use.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Link Center, academic departments, academic advising, student engagement, and other units to ensure holistic and coordinated support for students’ career development.
- Coordinate core career events such as Career Fairs, Networking and Interview events.
- Support team members in the development of outreach strategies and managing incoming requests for partnership.
- Support employer relations by identifying and supporting connections between employers, graduate schools, and prospective student career opportunities.
- Liaise with employers and regional partners to manage, plan, and execute campus events, meetings, and connections with faculty, students, and campus community.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and shared responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to conduct the ethical, confidential, sensitivity and professionalism standards set forth by the National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE)
- Knowledge of career coaching and/or advising principles
- Knowledge of higher education support programs and resources
- Ability to establish professional rapport and appropriate interpersonal relationships with student clientele
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with external partners such as employers and regional organizations
- Skilled in both independent and collaborative work environments
- Ability to think critically and creatively regarding career development topics
- Skilled in active listening, reading comprehension and continuous learning and development
- Ability to promote a welcoming environment, engaging diverse student populations and broad backgrounds
- Skilled working with computer technologies and online tools and systems
- Ability to lead workshops and presentations regarding career readiness best practices
- Knowledge and ability to use technologies such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- One (1) year of relevant work experience performing comparable duties

Desirable Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in counseling or related field
- Three (3) years’ experience working in higher education, career development, coaching or related field
- Management experience
- Event planning experience
Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this position is: $47,000 – $52,000 annually. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, competitively priced health/dental/vision/life insurance, tax-advantaged savings accounts, and participation in the nationally recognized Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund.
