Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Workforce Transition Coordinator supports adult learners in progressing from GED and advanced ESL programs into higher education, workforce training, or employment opportunities. This role is responsible for coordinating classes, recruiting participants, and managing instructional placements while fostering college partnerships that align education with career pathways. Contributes in the development of departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)’s and collaborates to coordinate professional development sessions. This is a grant-funded position.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate, schedule, and manage classes in various modalities, ensuring students are placed in appropriate instructional levels.
- Recruit, advise, and support GED and advanced ESL students in pursuing higher education or workforce opportunities.
- Develop and maintain pathways that connect students to career training, certificate programs, and employment
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and college partners to provide transition support and workforce alignment.
- Track student progress and outcomes, ensuring compliance with program measures and reporting requirements.
- Assist with outreach, orientation, and retention strategies to support student success.
- Promote career readiness by integrating workforce preparation, employability skills, and transition resources into the student experience.
- Evaluate program instructors on an annual basis.
- Coordinate & prepare professional development sessions in response to programmatic needs and TWC requirements, assist with the scheduling and registration.
- Conduct quality assurance audits of students and program files to ensure compliance with TWC requirements.
- Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’S) that align with the state standards and ensure staff understanding and adherence to SOP’s
- Lead and coordinate program curriculum and instruction, inclusive of face-to-face and remote learning.
- Have the ability to address obstacles, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
- Participate in required accreditation procedures and activities through Institutional Effectiveness planning.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Dean of Community Education, Associate Provost/Strategic & Collaborative Partnerships, Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs, and President.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Sociology, Psychology, Secondary Education, or Adult Education
- 3 years of experience in adult education, workforce development, or student support services.
- A current State Driver’s License.
Preferred:
- Knowledge in working with grant compliance.
