Position Summary

The Business and Industry Coordinator facilitates employer
recruitment of students by identifying, locating, and referring eligible students for placement in appropriate apprenticeship, internship,
co-op, and experiential learning opportunities. The Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive
Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) program and related workforce partnership initiatives that strengthen collaboration
between the institution and business and industry partners. The Business and Industry Coordinator collaborates closely with instructional
divisions, Workforce Development personnel, employers, and community stakeholders to support workforce readiness and career-connected
learning opportunities.

POSTING DATE: MAY 22, 2026

SALARY: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule C3
(range: $48,578 – $97,216).

ANTICIPATED START DATE: JULY 6, 2026

This
position will be based initially at Wallace Campus in Dothan, Alabama.

More than one position in the same job
classification may be filled from the applicants for this position should another vacancy occur during the search process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Business and Industry Partnerships

  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with local and regional business and industry partners to support workforce
    development initiatives.
  • Promote and enhance relationships with existing industry sponsors while identifying and developing new
    sponsorship opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between the institution, employers, community organizations, and workforce
    agencies.
  • Collaborate with employers to identify workforce needs and develop apprenticeship, internship, co-op, and experiential
    learning opportunities for students.
  • Coordinate employer engagement activities, including meetings, site visits, networking events,
    and partnership development initiatives.
  • Represent the institution at community, workforce, and industry events to promote workforce
    training and student opportunities.

FAME Program Coordination

  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and maintain
    a comprehensive FAME program in alignment with institutional and industry partner expectations.
  • Recruit, advise, and retain students
    participating in the FAME program and related workforce initiatives.
  • Facilitate employer recruitment of students by identifying,
    locating, screening, and referring eligible students for placement in apprenticeship experiences and career-related
    opportunities.
  • Coordinate communication between students, employers, faculty, and institutional personnel regarding program
    requirements and student progress.
  • Monitor student participation, attendance, academic progress, and employment outcomes throughout
    the program lifecycle.
  • Assist students with preparation for interviews, workplace expectations, employability skills, and career
    readiness activities.
  • Coordinate orientation sessions, informational meetings, and onboarding activities for students and employers
    participating in workforce programs.

Workforce Development and Student Placement

  • Collaborate with
    Instructional and Workforce Development personnel to develop partnerships that support career-connected learning opportunities.
  • Assist in placing students in internships, co-ops, apprenticeships, and other workforce experiences aligned with academic and
    career goals.
  • The position will support WIOA reporting activities, including recruitment efforts, active companies with contact
    information, and student and program data on placements.
  • Track and maintain records of student placements, employer participation,
    retention, completion, and job placement outcomes.
  • Maintain communication with employers regarding student performance, workforce
    needs, and program effectiveness.
  • Support workforce advisory committees and employer engagement initiatives related to academic and
    technical programs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of workforce development,
    apprenticeship models, experiential learning, and employer engagement practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective
    relationships with students, employers, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, communication,
    presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects, timelines, and reporting requirements
    simultaneously.
  • Skill in data tracking, recordkeeping, and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
  • Ability to recruit,
    advise, and support students in workforce-related programs.
  • Ability to analyze workforce needs and recommend effective partnership
    and placement solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, database systems, and communication
    platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced
    environment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A bachelor’s
    degree from an accredited institution is required.
  2. A minimum
    of two years of professional work experience in manufacturing, human resources, marketing, program or project management, career/technical
    education, academic or career counseling, or a related field is required.
  3. Ability to
    work overtime and non-standard hours is
    required
    .

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Master’s Degree from
    an accredited college or university.
  2. Five (5) years of professional work experience in manufacturing, human resources, marketing,
    program or project management, career/technical education, academic or career counseling, or a related field.
  3. Ellucian Banner
    experience.

    legitimate reason for not obtaining written verification by their own efforts, such as if the business is no longer in operation, an
    applicant may submit copies of appointment letters or contracts, and if that is not available, you may submit pay stubs or W-2 forms to
    confirm thetwo years of work experience in n manufacturing, human resources, marketing, program or project management, career/technical
    education, academic or career counseling, or a related field.
  5. Appropriate transcript(s) identifying the applicant, institution, and
    date of degree conferred, and verifying the applicant has received a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher. Transcripts may be unofficial
    for the application process, but they must identify the applicant, institution, degree earned, and the date the degree was conferred.
