About MCC
Metropolitan Community College is the oldest public institution of higher learning in Kansas City, Missouri, founded in 1915 as the Kansas City Polytechnic Institute. The Junior College of Kansas City, as it was known starting in 1919, was one of the first schools in the country to award an associate degree. Today, MCC offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs.

Job Summary
Incumbents support the Office of Career and Technical Education (CTE) with focus on career and technical education programs. Responsibilities include off-campus recruitment, event planning, campus visit program (specific to ATSI and HSI), and outreach activities to promote enrollment in CTE programs. Incumbents support campus admission teams with assisting students with academic programs which include enrollment processes, course offerings, fees, course selection, test scores, financial aid eligibility and options, and other resources that will help students meet their educational and occupational needs.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate academic support program operations; work may involve managing staff and activity scheduling, advising student organizations, providing logistical and functional support, and collecting necessary documentation
- Proactively assist in the coordination of recruitment activities organized by the campus admissions and recruitment team including high school visits and presentations, campus visits and presentations, contacting program participants and other relevant parties, coordinating logistics, and compiling program content
- Maintain a thorough understanding of MCC career and technical education programs, policies, procedures, and systems to effectively and accurately guide students.
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations pertaining to Federal Title IV, scholarships, tuition assistance, payment plans, and billing systems.
- Coordinate with internal and external personnel, departments, and community partners to communicate information, serve as a liaison, and represent the MCC CTE programs.
- Perform administrative tasks including providing general information via phone, email, or in-person; addressing concerns and complaints; scheduling appointments and events.
- Plans and organize recruitment events, high school visits and presentations, ATSI & HSI visits and presentations, contacting program participants and other relevant parties, coordinating logistics, and compiling program content, in consultation with relevant campus staff and administrators. Help career services at ATSI , i.e., Working Wednesdays, career fairs.
- Assists prospective students and others by answering questions related to the admissions process, career and technical education programs, and other relevant information.
- Promote and market CTE programs with area high schools, career centers, industry partners, and the community.
- Prepare, maintain, and update contact lists, communication materials, logs, and other documentation; maintain and update databases and online systems to record information and keep contact lists current.
- Collaborate with students, faculty, program coordinators, student services staff, and other campus student services supervisors and managers, district offices, and other internal and external stakeholders to communicate information, represent the department/College, provide recommendations, develop and revise processes and procedures to improve service delivery, and facilitate related operations in the assigned area of function.

- Bachelor’s degree
- One (1) year experience related to advising, education, counseling, financial aid or project management

Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
