Position Summary
Nursing
Campus: Downtown
The Clinical Coordinator plans , coordinates, and conducts clinical experiences for
nursing students. Oversees the operation of the nursing division including development, preparation, curricular revision, communication
among students, and problem solving. The Clinical Coordinator will collaborate with faculty to include course development, policies, course
objectives, program outcomes, and ensuring optimal learning experiences for students in the clinical
setting
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Develops. prepares,
and manages the clinical placement rotations and apprenticeship opportunities for the nursing program. - Collaborates with nursing
faculty to secure appropriate clinical groups. - Attend meetings, present agenda items relevant to clinical placement, schedule, and
compliance requirements. - Create, process, and monitor student clinical records.
- Collect and
trackacademic,immunization,healthinsurance,background,training,and any other necessary verification. - Train students and faculty on
proper means of submitting information (ClinPrep). - Verify that faculty and students have completed necessary immunizations and
site-specific training for clinical placements. - Share records with work-based learning sites.
- Complete annual placement
grids based on department needs and alignment of student learning outcomes. - Tracks and matches clinical practice experience,
settings, and specific patient encounters as indicated by department policy, law, and/or accreditation standards. - Be efficient in
the use of Exxat. - Maintains an up to date list of approved clinical affiliation agreements.
- Maintains up-to-date placement
data for faculty on a regular basis. - Ensures program compliance with the Alabama Board of Nursing, ACEN , and
ACCS. - Establishes clinical partnership which include writing agreements, collecting evaluations, distributing and gathering survey
data, processing information, and developing formats for data to be easily interpreted and understood. - Assist with the nursing
program accreditation reviews, self-study element, and compliance and accreditation
maintenance requirements as it pertains to
clinical placements.
- Utilizes secured online document management, learning, and ce1tification system to verify student criteria
for
clinical placement.
- Complies with all HIPAA and FERPA requirements for managing and maintaining confidential student
records for clinical placement. - Participate in program and curriculum reviews.
- Participate in nursing department
meetings. - Maintain office hours.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Provide academic and
career advice to students and promote student leadership and enrichment experiences. - Provide advice to the administration on
matters pertaining to the instructional program. - Be prompt and punctual in reporting for work.
- Maintain assigned office
hours. - Promote positive and productive relationships with service area businesses , industries, and agencies.
- Serve on
committees engaged in furthering the work of the institution when appointed or when elected. - Become familiar and follow the
institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the College Catalog, Faculty and Staff Handbook, and the Board of Trustees Policies and
Chancellor’ s Procedures. - Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Dean of Health Sciences, Executive Vice
President, and/or President.

Continued Employment is
contingent upon funding from the grant and is on a non-tenured
track.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of
two (2) years of recent clinical experience. - Unencumbered, Alabama Registered Nurse License (or multistate).
- Ability to
develop innovative clinical locations in line with course objectives. - Associate Degree in Nursing (AON) from an accredited
institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited
institution. - One year of previous teaching and/or clinical experience in medical-surgical
nursing.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office environment
with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding. Frequent walking,
standing, or sitting may be required. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. No special coordination
beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job
satisfactorily.
