Services (Corporate & Alumni Relations) vacancy.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Director serves as a
strategic leader responsible for developing and advancing corporate partnerships that support student career outcomes, workforce pipelines,
and institutional priorities at Florida A&M University. This role leads the cultivation, engagement, and expansion of employer and alumni
partnerships that contribute to internships, full-time employment opportunities, and experiential learning pathways for students. The
Assistant Director plays a critical role in aligning corporate engagement efforts with university priorities, including student success,
career readiness, and performance-based funding outcomes.
Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive corporate
relations strategy aligned with CPDC and university priorities; Build and maintain a portfolio of corporate partners across high-demand
industries, including regional and national employers; Identify, cultivate, and secure new employer partnerships to expand internship and
full-time employment opportunities for students; Strengthen relationships with existing partners through consistent engagement, stewardship,
and value-added programming.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align employer partnerships with academic
programs, workforce needs, and student talent pipelines; Increase employer participation in recruiting activities that lead to internships,
co-ops, and full-time employment outcomes; Support the development of structured pathways that connect students to high-quality,
career-aligned opportunities; Partner with Career Pathways Coaches to ensure alignment between student readiness and employer expectations;
Develop strategies to engage alumni as talent connectors, mentors, and hiring partners; Collaborate with Alumni Affairs and Institutional
Advancement to leverage alumni networks in support of career outcomes; and facilitate alumni involvement in employer engagement initiatives,
including recruiting, panels, and networking events.
Lead employer engagement efforts for signature programs, including
career expos, employer partner programs, and networking events; Expand corporate presence in pre-professional programming, including
workshops, classroom engagement, and career readiness initiatives; Identify opportunities for corporate sponsorships and strategic
partnerships that enhance CPDC programming and student access; Collaborate with Institutional Advancement to ensure alignment between
corporate engagement and broader university partnership strategies; and represent CPDC and FAMU in external meetings, conferences, and
corporate engagement opportunities.
Collaborate with the Data & Experiential Learning Outcomes Analyst to track employer
engagement, recruitment activity, and hiring outcomes; Utilize data systems (e.g., Handshake, 12twenty) to inform outreach strategies,
measure impact, and support institutional reporting; Monitor key performance indicators related to employer engagement, internship
participation, and post-graduation outcomes; Provide regular reports and insights to inform strategy and demonstrate contribution to
institutional metrics; On an annual basis, increase the number of active corporate partners engaged with the Career and Professional
Development Center by 8-12%, with at least 50% of new partnerships aligned to high-demand industries and institutional workforce priorities,
as informed by labor market and university data; On an annual basis, increase the percentage of employers actively recruiting for
internships and full-time opportunities by 10-12%, as measured through job postings, recruiting activity, and employer engagement data
within institutional systems; Demonstrate year-over-year improvement of 8-10% in the conversion of employer engagement activities into
student internship or full-time opportunities, as measured through post-engagement tracking, employer reporting, and institutional outcome
data.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience; or master’s degree
in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience.
Recommended Competencies
Demonstrated experience building and managing
external partnerships;
Strong communication, relationship management, and strategic planning
skills;
Experience working with data systems and using data to inform decision-making;
Experience in
higher education, workforce development, or talent pipeline initiatives;
Familiarity with career services platforms
(e.g., Handshake, 12twenty);
Experience collaborating with advancement or alumni relations
teams;
Understanding of labor market trends and early-career recruitment
strategies;
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in corporate relations, employer engagement, career services, business
development, or related field.
Pay Plan
This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate is subject to a
