Crystal
Crystal has long placed single cruisers at the forefront and that tradition continues today under A&K Travel Group’s newer ownership. Pre-dinner cocktail parties allow singles to meet and engage with others. Each night, a solos table is offered at a different restaurant so passengers can dine with other singles and try every specialty dining venue. Crystal also offers four ambassador hosts on each voyage. These gentlemen host pre-dinner festivities, singles dinner tables, and partner with singles at dance classes (usually Latin ballroom) and for evening dancing. (I have observed several and can vouch for their lightness of feet.) Also of note: Crystal is offering reduced single supplement on select voyages depending upon the suite category this year and into 2027.
Aurora Expeditions
Solo travelers comprise a significant portion of Aurora Expeditions passengers (some 26%, on average), creating a naturally welcoming and social ambiance. Its small vessels only carry between 120 and 154 passengers, encouraging interaction between adventure-minded travelers who share a passion for exploration. Expedition outings, always small-group, encourage friendships, too. Camaraderie is also shared at the bar and at dinner, where open seating allows everyone to join anyone. Aurora Expeditions also supports solo cruisers with dedicated options, such as 10 solo cabins per sailing fleet-wide, and a cabin-share program to match same-gender singles, with the single supplement waived if no suitable match is secured. Those looking for an especially adventurous itinerary will be happy to know the single supplement is waived on select Arctic & Beyond voyages in 2026.
Silversea
This ultra-luxury cruise line possesses a devoted following of single cruisers, due in good part to its attentive crew. The all-suite ships offer butlers for every passenger and they excel at pampering guests. Solo travelers might ask their butlers for assistance securing card game players, shore outing buddies, or tablemates for dinner. With 24-hour suite service provided course-by-course, singles can also enjoy dining pleasures while reading a can’t-put-down book, watching a streamed movie, or simply savoring the sunset.
That said, making friends on board is a breeze, due to the ships’ small sizes (passenger capacity from 100 to 728). I’ve found Silversea cruisers to be a social lot, happily making new acquaintances in bars and lounges pre-and- post-dinner. On select ships and voyages (some classic ocean liners, including Europe, Asia, and North America sails), hosts are available as dance partners, dinner companions, or simply for stimulating conversations. Silversea regularly updates its voyages, with new sailings available with reduced single supplements.
