An “innovative” managed portfolio service (MPS) that aims to address both challenges and opportunities that come with market shifts has been made available to UK financial advisers.
The MPS was launched by Clever Adviser Technology and Marlborough Investment Management and offers a range of hybrid and sustainability-focused portfolios.
It has been named the Clever Marlborough MPS.
The MPS uses the CleverEngine – Clever’s proprietary fund selection and monitoring system to analyse millions of pieces of fund performance data.
Additionally, Marlborough’s team of portfolio managers and analysts provides due diligence and oversight.
Both are used to make recommendation when to trade and “rational” switching recommendations.
Clever is a specialist provider of quant-driven solutions.
Clever founder and chief executive Colum Wilde said: “The power of advanced quantitative technology and data science is becoming more and more important to advisers and their clients.
“One of the key reasons for this is the increasingly rapid velocity of the markets, which are now moving to a rhythm that many investment processes simply aren’t geared to reflect.
“We strongly believe the Clever Marlborough MPS is a game-changer in this regard. It supports our vision of providing cutting-edge solutions that lead to consistent performance and excellent outcomes for investors.”
The MPS will score and rank over 4,000 funds every month and its analysis involves consideration of more than 122 million data points.
Marlborough chief investment officer Sheldon MacDonald added: “With our team’s expertise and the power of Clever’s technology, we’re confident this service will be a great success.
“There’s no doubt that the investment landscape is changing at pace. We’re confident that the Clever Marlborough MPS reflects its evolution, which is why we’re very excited about this launch.”
In September 2023, One Financial Solutions appointed Marlborough to construct and manage model portfolio solutions range for its clients.
The 15 portfolios, which was launched on 23 August, are matched to five different risk profiles.
There are options for the underlying funds to be active, passive, or blended.
And the MPS range is available to One Financial Solutions’ advisers on several platforms.
