Schroders has appointed Philip Chandler as chief investment officer (CIO) of Schroder Investment Solutions (SIS).
SIS is a series of actively-managed Model Portfolios and Multi-Asset funds established by Schroders in 2021.
SIS assets under management (AUM) surpasses £6.3bn.
Chandler joined Schroders in 2003 and will maintain his current position as head of UK Multi-Asset while also stepping into the role of CIO.
Schroders said Chandler’s appointment will “further enhance the SIS proposition by ensuring alignment between the UK Multi-Asset team and the model portfolio service (MPS) range to create greater unification across all SIS solutions”.
SIS was created to accommodate a wide range of investment needs and risk profiles, and offer financial advisers access to various risk approaches that span active, blended, passive and sustainable strategies.
Schroders head of regional and advisory sales Jamie Fowler said: “Philip’s appointment as CIO further reflects our commitment to the UK advisory market. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role that will significantly contribute to our efforts in fostering growth and driving innovation.
“We are proud of the significant progress SIS has made since its inception, and we believe that under Philip’s leadership, we will continue to build on this momentum with the aim of enhancing client outcomes.”
Chandler added: “I am truly excited to embrace this new role. Having been with Schroders for over 20 years, I have witnessed the remarkable evolution and growth of the business, which has included the launch of SIS.
“I am looking forward to building on our strong foundation and collaborating closely with our talented team to deliver innovative investment solutions that meet our clients’ needs.”
Schroders has managed multi-asset mandates for over nine decades and has over 145 dedicated professionals in the Multi-Asset Investments team, managing over £200bn for clients worldwide.
