Discover’s 5% Bonus Categories for Q4 2025: Amazon, Drugstores

The fourth quarter of 2025 brings about Discover’s latest 5% cash back bonus categories in time for fall season shopping. From Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025, holders of eligible cards like the Discover it® Cash Back and Discover it® Student Cash Back will earn 5% back at Amazon.com and drugstores on up to $1,500 in combined quarterly spending (activation required), plus 1% back on everything else.

Whether you’re shopping for everyday essentials, Black Friday, the holidays, or loading up on tissues for the cold and flu season, you can earn up to $75 in bonus cash back in these categories when you activate them, which you can do by logging into your Discover account online or in the app, or by calling the number on the back of your card.

Here’s what you can expect from the latest categories.

Discover’s Q4 2025 bonus cash-back categories

Amazon.com

The Amazon.com category is a repeat from the same quarter of last year, offering bonus cash back on purchases made through the mega-retailer, including digital downloads, Amazon Fresh orders, Amazon Local Deals and Prime subscriptions. Eligible purchases also include those made in-store at Amazon Go and Amazon Fresh stores. Purchases made at Whole Foods Market will not qualify for the elevated rate, but they will earn 1% back.

Drugstores

Purchases made at stand-alone drugstores, pharmacies and online pharmacies will qualify for the bonus cash back rate. If the pharmacy is located inside of a retailer, the purchase may earn only 1% back.
