Canadian alternative asset manager Sagard has appointed Dan Johnson as director of business development.
Most recently, Johnson served as vice president of portfolio originations at Antares Capital, where he was focused on private equity sponsor coverage, portfolio-driven financing initiatives, and strategic market analysis.

At Antares, he also supported institutional investor relationships and managed strategic investor programmes.
Johnson began his career in private equity and alternative investments as a business development associate at lower middle market buyout firm Milestone Partners.
He starts in his new role at Sagard on 30 September.
Sagard, which manages $44bn (£32.7bn) in assets across private credit, private equity and venture capital strategies, recently launched a collateral loan obligation (CLO) equity fund to target the equity tranche, which is the highest return segment in a CLO structure.
The new fund aims to invest in the equity tranche of the future Sagard | HalseyPoint CLOs, which are a diversified pool of leveraged loans managed by Sagard | HalseyPoint.
