WebBank, which provides asset-based lending and other credit facilities to strategic partners, credit funds and other lenders, has appointed Philip Gitler as senior vice president – head of lender finance to grow its asset-backed lending business.
In the role, Gitler will be responsible for overseeing this growth, focusing on providing debt capital to asset-backed private credit fund managers and specialty finance companies.

Initially, the team will specialise in asset-backed warehouse facilities, as well as back-leverage facilities with credit funds.
Gitler brings over two decades of experience in the asset finance industry, including previously serving as managing director at Waterfall Asset Management, where he led the firm’s asset-backed private credit business.

He has also held roles at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch and has run his own advisory business, PMG Advisors.
