Lane42 launches

Lane42 Investment Partners, an alternative asset manager founded by industry veteran Scott L. Graves, has launched.

Lane42 will invest in both public and private debt and equity opportunities. It will be headquartered in Los Angeles with a presence in New York.

Graves will serve as chief executive and chief investment officer. He has more than 30 years of experience investing across public and private credit and equity alternative investment strategies.

Most recently, he worked at Ares Management where he was a partner, portfolio manager, head of special opportunities and the co-head of the Ares private equity group.

Prior to joining Ares in 2017, he spent over 15 years in various roles at Oaktree Capital Management.

Lane42 is launching with a $2bn (£1.6bn) capital commitment and a minority equity investment from affiliates of alternative investment firm Millennium Management.

“The platform we are building is designed to deliver bespoke and thoughtful capital solutions for users of our capital,” said Graves.

“Success in the alternative investment space requires focus, a breadth of expertise, and flexibility in execution. I am grateful for my experiences with the exceptional teams at both Ares and Oaktree over the past decades, and I believe that experience, combined with deep resources, scale, and agility, will enable Lane42 to identify and execute compelling and differentiated opportunities across a wide range of markets.”
