Ascot Lloyd has appointed Ben Waterhouse to the newly created role of chief client officer.
Waterhouse will start his new position in January 2026 and report to chief executive Francis Jackson.
He will succeed Gary Stirrup, who steps down from his position as chief commercial officer in October.
Waterhouse will also work closely with Ascot Lloyd’s wider executive team.
The new role is designed to accelerate Ascot Lloyd’s growth strategy, bringing together the group’s full suite of capabilities to meet the evolving needs of clients.
Waterhouse has more than 20 years’ financial services and wealth experience, most recently as chief client officer at Schroders Personal Wealth, where he led adviser teams and developed the client proposition.
He has also held senior distribution roles at Barclays Wealth Management, Fidelity and Legal & General.
Jackson said: “Over the past year we have built an exceptional management team, set up to deliver on our ambitious strategy.
“Ben will play an important role as we continue to enhance our client proposition and accelerate Ascot Lloyd’s growth in 2026 and beyond.”
Waterhouse added: “This is an especially exciting time to be taking on the role of chief client officer at Ascot Lloyd. The business has all the right ingredients for success, and I look forward to collaborating with colleagues as we continue to innovate, scale the business and deliver for clients.”
Ascot Lloyd is one of the UK’s largest independently owned IFA firms serving 33,000 clients. The firm employs over 600 staff across more than 20 locations nationwide and is backed by European private equity investor Nordic Capital.
