Job Description Summary
The Associate Director of Experiential Learning oversees the Institute’s high-impact entrepreneurial experiences, including the Living Learning Community (LLC), pitch competitions, co-curricular programs, student organizations, and the Altman Summer Internship Program. This role ensures that experiential learning is rigorous, engaging, and aligned with the Institute’s mission.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the Altman Summer Internship Program, including employer partnerships, student application and matching, and intern performance tracking.
- Lead all pitch competitions, innovation challenges, and venture-focused co-curricular programming.
- Advise and support student entrepreneurship organizations and student-led initiatives.
- Oversee the Entrepreneurship LLC, including programming and coordination with Residence Life and Student Life.
- Collaborate with alumni and external relations to recruit judges, mentors, speakers, and industry experts.
- Track student participation, experiential learning outcomes, and program-level KPIs.
- Support experiential pilots, ecosystem events, and new program design as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Outreach, Recruitment and Retention in order to meet Altman Institute goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least three years of progressively responsible experience managing student programs, internships, or experiential learning initiatives, preferably in higher education.
- Experience supervising staff, student leaders, or interns and leading collaborative teams.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple programs and events simultaneously.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in assessment, reporting, or tracking outcomes of experiential learning programs.
- Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration, higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field.
- Experience in entrepreneurship education, academic program administration, or student-centered experiential learning programs within a university or similar environment.
- Experience managing internship programs, pitch competitions, student organizations, or living learning communities.
- Familiarity with career services, employer partnerships, and student professional development programs.
- Ability to use program participation data to inform strategic planning, student engagement, and program growth.
- Experience collaborating with alumni, mentors, and external ecosystem partners to enhance experiential learning opportunities.
