BNP Paribas Asset Management (AM) has appointed Isabelle Scemama to lead its combined alternatives capabilities following the closing of BNP Paribas Cardif’s acquisition of AXA Investment Management (IM).
Scemama (pictured) is currently global head of AXA IM Alternatives and will take on the new role in addition to her existing position.

The new combined structure brings together over €300bn (£259bn) in alternatives assets under management across real estate, infrastructure, private debt and alternative credit and private equity, establishing the largest alternatives investment management platform in Europe.
Rob Gambi has also been appointed to lead the combined liquid investment capabilities across AXA IM Core and BNPP AM, in addition to his current role as global head of investments at BNP Paribas AM.

Both Scemama and Gambi will report to Sandro Pierri, chief executive of AXA IM and BNP Paribas AM.
