The CCAS Office of Graduate Studies is seeking is a Career Counselor to advise students and alumni on career direction and opportunities through individual advising and career workshops including career exploration, job search strategies, professional document best practices and interview preparation. This role will also provide support for administrative needs, data management, internal systems, alumni relations and career resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Offer individual career coaching to advance the career development of master’s and doctoral students and alumni at all stages of their careers. Depending on prior experience, topics covered can include career exploration, job search/networking strategy, resume/cover letter/LinkedIn, interview preparation/compensation negotiation, and professional advancement.
- Provide essential career services support for ongoing projects such as updating career guides/resources, managing alumni contacts, overseeing a career newsletter, managing database systems, and maintaining website content.
- Supports the planning and execution of career events, including alumni panels, professional development programs, and industry programs.
- Works with the Center for Career Services to provide information to students related to student employment, employer events and activities, networking sessions, and on-line resources.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- General understanding of the graduate student experience, with knowledge of how graduate degrees function as differentiators for job seekers in the current job market.
- Empathetic and demonstrate high emotional intelligence.
- Excellent communicator. For example, with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other university leadership and stakeholders.
Hiring Range
$45,925.13 – $63,191.56
