Luxury British luggage brand Carl Friedrik has launched its Black Friday sale for 2025, offering a solid 30 percent off its whole collection of impeccably-constructed travel bags, suitcases, backpacks, and accessories through Monday, December 1.
We’ve long been fans of the London-based travel company—multiple Traveler editors from both the UK and US teams swear by its luxe pieces when heading everywhere from the gym to the office to far-flung locales alike. They’ve some of the most elegant designs you’ll find on the market today, constructed with materials such as quality Italian leather and extra-strong polycarbonate, finished with genuine suede inners, ultra-smooth wheels, and sturdy YKK zippers. We appreciate the solid lifetime warranty too.
However, quality comes at a cost, and this is a brand that sits at the upper end of the price bracket. Typically, the popular Carry-On X will set you back $695, while a small weekender is $545. Shopping during the sales season gives you the chance to pick up a lifetime investment—or a generous gift for a loved one—at a much more pleasing price point.

Core The Large check-in
Why we love it: I tested this version on a six-day trip to Las Vegas and was immediately impressed with its high-quality materials (a polycarbonate shell, vegetable-tanned leather detailing, and recycled polyester lining) and overall slim nature. Even though the clamshells are more shallow than the original suitcase, both sides have entirely zipped compartments (plus pockets on the zip-covers), meaning I didn’t have to wrestle with compression straps to secure my packing cubes. The 360-degree Hinomoto wheels also rolled smoothly over the thick carpet in a Las Vegas casino. —Matt Ortile, associate editor

Hybrid The Carry-On
Why we love it: This suitcase is absolutely gorgeous. The Carl Friedrik tagline really means it: You walk around with this dashing thing, rolling along the way, whether in Montmartre or Union Station, and you fully carry it and yourself with confidence. It moves beautifully, smoothly rolling over hard floors and carpet alike. Also, it’s so sturdy, it’s basically a chair. I sit on it whenever I’m waiting in line at the airport and I don’t worry about it caving in or collapsing. I am a serial overpacker and this has me covered for anywhere from two to five days. —M.O.

Core The Carry-on
Why we love it: “This hard-sided carry-on switches the brand’s usual clasp-style lock for a zip, which I prefer as it’s much easier to close when full. It’s impressively easy to handle, and the soft suede-like brushed finish inside is lovely. I have the cream case, which is very stylish but prone to scuffs—go for a darker color to preserve its chic look for as long as possible.” —Charley Ward, commerce writer

Hybrid The Carry-On X
Why we love it: “I travel regularly with the Carry-on X. I love the way it looks and navigates—the organizational pockets are really thoughtful and well-designed. This case has an aluminum lock frame, which feels incredibly safe and secure, plus a front pocket that’s a game-changer for zipping through security and for keeping your laptop close to hand, which is so handy when you’re working on a flight. This case has accompanied me on well over 20 trips now, and I’ve never had any issues.” —Sophie Knight, visuals editor

Hybrid trunk
Why we love it: I used this case on a trip around Italy on the Orient Express, which required multiple outfit changes to cover a wide range of activities and, as we were traveling during the off-season, I also needed multiple bulky coats to cover all weather conditions. Its four deep, roomy compartments comfortably fit everything in with plenty of room to spare, and the included packing cubes (not something I’ve seen before in any suitcase, adding value for money) made it easy to stay organized. The square shape worked far better than a regular-shaped suitcase for train travel, as it was much easier to slot into a tight space in my compact cabin. The scuff-friendly gray body was appreciated too—it disembarked looking good as new. —Lucy Bruton, social media manager

Compact weekender
Why we love it: Quick stopovers require minimum fuss—if you regularly hop on the train for an overnight work trip, you’ll want this stylish, minimal bag, which fits neatly under the seat or in the overhead lockers without squeeze, even when full to the brim. There’s ample room for your pajamas, toiletry bag, and an outfit change, with smart leather straps adding a handsome finishing touch. —C.W.

72-Hour Backpack
Editor review: As a chronic overpacker, I’m skeptical about a vessel promising to hold enough for a specific timeframe. But Carl Friedrik’s 72-Hour backpack does just that, comfortably allowing me to take off for a three-day trip to Kent with everything necessary on my back. It’s sleek as can be—smooth black nylon with a ribbed front that unzips to reveal a Tardis-esque compartment. The inside pouch is ideal slipping a laptop in and out on the move without disrupting the contents, and I’m grateful there aren’t too many hidden pockets—there’s little risk of losing trinkets here. —Connor Sturges, digital assistant

The Packing Cubes
Why we love it: I was initially dubious of packing cubes, as I couldn’t see what benefit they’d add. Surely they’d just add more bulk to the case, if anything? However, I’m now a convert, as it keeps my suitcase so much more organized than before. They fit perfectly into my Carry-On X suitcase, and the mesh top keeps it easy to see exactly what’s where. I use the biggest for bulkier items like sweaters and trousers, one for T-shirts and thinner pieces, one as a toiletry bag, and the smallest for underwear. —S.K.
