The Tufts Career Center, situated in Academic Affairs, uses a Career Design approach to providee
comprehensive career development assistance for undergraduates, graduate students and alumni from the School of Arts & Sciences, the School
of Engineering, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. We provide career and graduate school advising, online career resources and
career education workshops, networking events and presentations with alumni and employers, as well as career and internship fairs, job and
internship search assistance including online listings, and funding for professional development. We strive to foster transformational

What You’ll Do
This is a hybrid position
expected to be on campus at least 2 days per week. Please submit a cover letter with your application.
Performs analytical
and reporting responsibilities for unit, cross-functional, or institutional data. Revises, analyzes and maintains data reports and conducts
analysis. Prepares management and statistical summaries and reports. Design and set up databases for data coding and entry, gather and
manage data, conduct statistical analysis and provide interpretation of results to support research findings or business
decisions
- Data Analysis:
- Work with managers/investigators to develop and implement analysis plans
- Filter or clean the
data to remove errors and ensure consistency - Correct errors or remove data from database
- Draft tables and develop figures
for manuscripts/reports and presentation materials - Construct data files in multiple formats for analysis
- Perform appropriate
statistical analysis such as correlation, regression or time series - Interpret data and summarize results
- Data
Collection, Assessment, and Systems Management:- Identify trends and communicate findings to support strategic decision-making,
planning, and evaluation in the Career Center - Gather Career Center usage and engagement data, including but not limited to advising
appointments, program attendance, and Handshake and website usage and employer engagement data - Use existing tools within the Career
Center such as Handshake, PeopleGrove, and other systems to pull and analyze student, employer, and alumni engagement - Develop strong
understanding of various data systems across the University and how they can be best integrated with Career Center data - Ensure data
is collected by demographic groups including class year, undergraduate, graduate, alumni, race, gender, ethnicity, first gen
status - Track who is and is not utilizing the CC services and delivering those insights to Career Center leadershipto inform
engagement decisions - Partner across the department (advising, employer relations, mentoring, and alumni career services) on the
systems each team uses to ensure timely and accurate upload of users and integrity of the data within - Update and maintain data sets
and ensure data security and full compliance with student data privacy
- Identify trends and communicate findings to support strategic decision-making,
- Destination Outcomes Collection
- Manage
collection and reporting of annual destination outcomes data for post-graduation (AS&E undergrad students) plus internships, co-ops,
research experiences during their time at Tufts - Report outcomes to National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) – a major
professional association in the field that reports on trends in college student post-graduation employment - Work with Marketing and
Communications Assistant Director to highlight data on website for current and future students, parents, and others. Analyze data for trends
and to help the office determine use of resources

- Reporting and Communication
- Provide Career Center data to be
included in regular reports for the Executive Director, and as requested by internal and external groups at all levels of the university
(Trustees, Provost, Deans, Faculty, etc.) including but not limited to students engaged in internships, doing research with professors,
percentage of first-generation students with various career outcomes. - Track internal monthly statistics on office usage, website
usage, job and internship postings and employer engagement - Provide yearly report to admissions on office statistics useful in
recruiting new students - Analyze data for different audiences both internal and external to Tufts
- Support data requests from
colleagues within the Career Center relating to their career communities and programming

What We’re Looking For
Basic Requirements:
Knowledge and experience
typically acquired by:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
- 1-3 years data management/analytics and
reporting - Basic SAS/SPSS programming and data manipulation skills, experience creating data entry screens, verification, and
documentation - Strong analytical, critical thinking, math and writing skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to
discern key information from data sets - Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Excellent capabilities with Microsoft Excel, including
proficiency with Pivot Tables, lookup functions, text functions, and logical functions) - Knowledge of basic
statistics - Ability to learn new reporting and career center systems
- Proven ability to learn new systems quickly,
particularly data visualization and reporting tools - Strong teamwork, organizational and communication
skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Experience in a higher education
setting - Experience using Tableau (or similar analytical tools) to develop dashboards is preferred
Pay
Range
Minimum $60,000.00, Midpoint $75,000.00, Maximum $90,100.00
Salary is based on related experience, expertise,
and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
