student-centered professionals to apply for the role of Director of the Business & Finance Career Community. This is an exciting opportunity
to shape a signature career pathway at one of the nation’s most distinctive liberal arts colleges and to empower students as they explore
careers in finance, consulting, and the broader business world.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean and Executive Director of Career
Communities, the Director serves as a key campus leader in helping students and recent graduates make meaningful connections between their
academic studies, personal aspirations, and professional goals. The Director provides individual and group advising, creates high-impact
programs, leads career treks and employer site visits, and manages signature initiatives that prepare students for competitive opportunities
in business and finance.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring students, building robust partnerships, and designing
career-readiness experiences that blend professional development with Grinnell’s deep commitment to service and civic engagement.
Key
Responsibilities
Advise students and early-career alumni pursuing finance, consulting, and business career paths.
Guide
students in securing internships, full-time positions, job-shadowing opportunities, and graduate-school options.
Lead workshops,
networking events, speaker panels, and immersive off-campus treks to employer sites.
Manage and grow signature Career Community
programs and maintain a strong online presence for the community.
Build and sustain partnerships with faculty, alumni, employers,
and business leaders to expand opportunities for Grinnell students.
Represent the Business & Finance Career Community within the CLS
and across campus, contributing to large-scale initiatives and institutional priorities.
Collect, track, and analyze data to assess
program impact and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
At least five years of experience
in corporate HR, business-school career advising, or a related field (applicants with less than 5 years may be considered for the role at an
Assistant or Associate Director level)
Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse, high-achieving undergraduate population
Proven ability in group facilitation, stakeholder collaboration, and guiding students through internship, job-search, and
graduate-school processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree in business, student development, or related discipline
