Croatia-based peer-to-peer lending platform Hive5 reported an almost 10 per cent drop in the number of loans originated in May compared to April.
The platform originated 8,925 loans in May, a 9.7 per cent fall from the 9,887 it originated last month.

However, the platform saw its originated loan volume increase slightly in May compared to last month, rising from €5,496,993 (roughly £4,628,000) in April to €5,503,968.
The firm also said it saw returns remain “consistent” in May despite an “unpredictable market”.

“In May, Hive5 once again showed stable performance across key results. We are especially satisfied with increased originated loan volume compared to April,” it said in a statement.
It added that it is currently “putting a lot of effort” into strengthening its business strategy. The firm registered 25,734 new investors in May.
