KBC Group to buy Business Lease Czech Republic and Slovakia

KBC Group has agreed to acquire 100% of the shares of Business Lease Czech Republic and Business Lease Slovakia for €72m ($83.5m).

The acquisition will be carried out by ČSOB Leasing Czech Republic and ČSOB Leasing Slovakia, both affiliates within KBC Group’s Czech and Slovak divisions.

The purchase is aimed at extending KBC Group’s leasing operations within Central Europe.

Business Lease, which operates under the Dutch AutoBinck Group, has a presence in the operational leasing and fleet management market, catering primarily to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as large corporations.

The company oversees a fleet that exceeds 30,000 vehicles and has a workforce of 244 employees.

Its central office is situated in Prague, with additional branches spread across the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region, including Bratislava.

KBC Group CEO Johan Thijs said: “This acquisition marks again an important step forward in KBC Group’s strategy to strengthen our already strong position in both Czech Republic and Slovakia.

“By integrating Business Lease with ČSOB Leasing, we are creating a powerful fleet in both markets: around 15,000 operating leasing vehicles in Czech Republic becoming a top five player and around 10,000 operating leasing vehicles in Slovakia becoming a top three reference player.”

The combined unit is expected to yield increased operational efficiencies.

Autobinck Group CEO Vincent Weijers stated: “Over the years, the Business Lease team has built a strong and successful presence in five European markets. Amid rapid market consolidation, partnering with larger players offers the best path for future growth.

“The sale of the Czech and Slovak operations to KBC marks the first step in that direction.”

The acquisition is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval from antitrust authorities.

In March 2025, KBC Bank member ČSOB integrated nCino’s commercial lending platform into its operations to digitise and streamline its commercial and SME lending services.

“KBC Group to buy Business Lease Czech Republic and Slovakia” was originally created and published by Leasing Life, a GlobalData owned brand.
