Nera Capital onboards £50m South American funding partner

Litigation finance platform Nera Capital has onboarded a new South America-based funding partner committing £50m of capital.


Litigation finance platform Nera Capital has onboarded a new South America-based funding partner, committing £50m of capital across litigation finance and legal assets.

Nera Capital has been appointed as asset manager for the funds, with the capital being allocated across a range of UK-based claims.

The firm will be responsible for underwriting, structuring, deployment and ongoing management of the funded portfolio, and the capital will be deployed into carefully selected legal assets.

Nera said the funding partner has an “extensive track record” in originating, evaluating, structuring and executing high-yielding special situations investments that are uncorrelated to traditional asset classes, including litigation financing in South America.

“We are delighted to welcome this new funding partner and to be appointed as asset manager for this mandate. Our partner’s experience in complex special situations investing aligns closely with Nera’s disciplined approach to litigation finance,” said Robin Grant, chief financial officer at Nera Capital.

“This commitment further strengthens our platform and supports our ability to deliver attractive, risk-adjusted returns for our investment partners.”
