Nordstrom devotees know summer is the best time of the year to score deep discounts at the department store. Unlike most major sales, Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale isn’t just a way to get rid of last season’s spillover—shoppers can find deals on brand-new items and made-for-the-sale kits across every category (clothing, shoes, luggage and bags, travel accessories, and home goods included). Whether you’re new to the annual sale or look forward to it every year, here’s everything you need to know about the 2023 shopping event.
When can I shop the Nordstrom Anniversary sale?
For select Nordstrom cardholders, the sale opened up July 11. Cardholders with “Icon” Nordy Club status had first dibs on the deals, with “Ambassadors” gaining access July 12 and “Influencers” joining the party on July 13.
As of Monday, July 17, at 12:01 am ET, Nordstrom’s 2023 Anniversary Sale opened up to the general public, and remains open through August 6. There are still plenty of deals to take advantage of—but to maximize your chances of scoring exactly what you want, start shopping ASAP.
What’s on sale?
Trusted luggage brands like Tumi and Béis are participating in the event, as well as beauty favorites like La Mer, Charlotte Tilbury, and Bobbi Brown. On the shoe and clothing front, you’ll find deals from Sam Edelman, Birkenstock, Ugg, Cult Gaia, Nike, Barefoot Dreams, Vince, and Farm Rio. There are plenty of deals from Zella, Nordstrom’s mega-popular in-house athleisure line, too.
Is there anything else I should know?
If you’re more of an in-store shopper, know that your closest Nordstrom likely has some events going on, from Glam-Up Days to a Happy Sips and Bites night. The same discounts are available in stores.

Nordstrom is often the place we turn to for comfortable basics that fit right into our travel uniform. During the Anniversary Sale, many of the department store’s bestsellers are discounted, including Barefoot Dreams’ super-soft cardigan and a Nordstrom-made cashmere sweater, both of which are great layering pieces for plane rides. You can also find several pieces from Zella, Nordstrom’s in-house athleisure brand, on sale; beyond the joggers and leggings below, the line’s popular high-waist workout leggings and summer-friendly bike shorts are marked down, too.
Men’s clothes
Hundreds of men’s clothing items are on sale this year, with deals from brands we love like Cotopaxi, Marine Layer, Adidas, Cole Haan, Levi’s, Zella, Vince, and more. Stock up on everything from dress shirts fit for fall weddings to summer-ready swim trunks and wear-everyday undershirts.
Comfortable shoes
A good pair of wear-all-day shoes is a staple in any travel uniform and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is always filled with deals on men’s, women’s, and kids’ styles, whether you’re looking for sneakers, sandals, dress shoes, or slippers. One of our favorite sandals for lounging around the house, Airbnb, or hotel, the Adidas slide, is 20 percent off. If you ended the winter with worn-out boots, there are options from Sorel, Hunter, and Blondo.

During the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, top-quality beauty and skincare brands package up some of its best-selling products into discounted bundles, or offer them in limited-edition sizes. These Nordstrom exclusives include product from Supergoop, L’Occitane, Dr. Dennis Gross, Malin + Goetz, La Mer, and NuFace, which makes hugely popular facial toning and sculpting devices.
Luggage
If you’re in need of a luggage refresh, Nordstrom has a solid selection of options from some of our favorite brands, but they’re going fast—several items from Tumi, Monos, Béis, and Dagne Dover have already sold out. Plenty of discounted duffels and backpacks still remain, including styles from Herschel and Rains. Planning for an extended trip, say a month or longer? This oversized Tumi case might be just what you’re looking for, and is discounted by nearly $300.

Along with luggage, the Anniversary Sale includes discounts on tons of crossbody bags, totes, and fanny packs to keep your belongings close by on the go—we’re eyeing this convertible backpack-turned-shoulder-bag from Aimee Kestenberg. Shoppers can peruse sales from brands like Coach, Longchamp, Rebecca Minkoff, and Marc Jacobs.
Travel accessories
A heads up to parents: Uppababy’s Vista 2 stroller is $250 off during the Anniversary Sale, and Nuna’s Rava convertible car seat is $150 off. Other noteworthy deals in the accessories section: designer sunglasses from Tom Ford, Burberry, and Prada; and a Barefoot Dreams travel set.
