Sony’s 2023 Days of Play sale is here, and it’s chock full of deals and discounts. If you’ve been waiting for certain games to go on sale before buying them, now is certainly your chance. But while there are tons of great deals on games this year, Sony is also making its subscription services cheaper as well, if you pay in-full for the year, anyway.
There are hundreds of PlayStation games on sale
This year’s Days of Play sale includes some savings on great PlayStation classics. Games like God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part 1, and Horizon Forbidden West are down $20. That means you can pick up each for $49, rather than $69, as if they were Wii games in 2008. There are different deals for PS5 and PS4 versions of each game, so make sure you’re buying the right one for your system. (The PS5 titles usually bundle in the PS4 version, while the PS4 title is standalone.)
There are also deeper discounts on games across the board. Red Dead Redemption 2, for example, is $19.79, while Ghost of Tsushima is currently $29.39. There are a lot of games on sale here. Here’s how much you can save on a PlayStation Plus subscription
But while these individual game deals are pretty great, it’s Sony’s deals on PlayStation Plus that are a surprise. Right now, the company is offering up to 25% off any of its three online subscription tiers. The deal only applies to 12-month subscriptions, but seeing as these are already the best overall deal for playing PlayStation online, it makes some sense.
Here’s how those deals boil down: You can subscribe to PlayStation Plus Essential, Sony’s entry-level subscription tier, for $44.99 for the year, down from $59.99. That will net you online multiplayer, cloud storage, some free monthly games, as well as discounts only available to PS Plus subscribers.
If you want some more bang for your buck, you can check out PlayStation Plus Extra, which comes with all of Essential’s perks, plus Sony’s game catalog (featuring excellent PS4 and PS5 titles), and Ubisoft+ Classics. Sony has that plan currently at $74.99, down from $99.99.
For those looking for everything Sony has to offer, there’s PlayStation Plus Premium, which comes with everything we’ve covered so far, as well as an expanded library of classic PlayStation games spanning PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP, game trials (something you should try before buying a game when available), as well as cloud streaming, so you can play a game without downloading it first. That now costs $89.99, down from $119.99.

How long do these Days of Play deals last?
Whether you want to save on subscriptions or on entire games, you have until June 12 to do so, at least on the West Coast. While Sony says the deals on subscriptions expire after the 12th, the games’ deals all end on June 13 at 2:59 a.m. ET. It isn’t clear if that also applies to the PlayStation Plus subscriptions as well, but in any case, try to make your decision before then.
