The Samsung T7 Portable SSD is not the latest and greatest when it comes to portable SSDs, but I do like mine—and I’m planning to pick up more T7s for me and my wife while it’s on sale for $79.99 during Labor Day. (I find you can never have enough external SSDs.)
If you’re like me and you have backups for your backups‚and a large media catalog that you keep ferrying between different devices—a fast SSD is a must. For me (and most people), the Samsung T7 is fast enough, with read speeds up to 1050 MB/s and write speeds up to 1000 MB/s. It uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface and works using USB-C. It’s also cute, small, and very pocketable (3.3 x 2.2 x 0.3 inches).
The T7 is sleek with a solid aluminum body. And right now, Amazon’s Labor Day sale is offering steep discounts on the 1TB model. It’s the lowest prices that we’ve seen yet, matching the previous low during Prime Day.
What do you think so far?
If you want more space, you can pick up the 2TB model in Titan Gray for just $129.99, down from $187.99. But the best deal is on the 1TB model, for just $79.99 (down from $119.99).
