Sophie Florentin-Siu as business development director Schroders Capital

Schroders Capital has appointed Sophie Florentin-Siu as business development director, UK, where she will focus on the firm’s private debt and credit alternatives platform in the country.

Florentin-Siu (pictured) will be part of the private markets specialist sales team at Schroders Capital. The $111bn (£84bn) alternatives arm of Schroders said the appointment will help expand its UK credit offerings across its institutional and wealth channels, with private debt growing in prominence as a source of portfolio income for investors.

Schroders Capital’s private debt and credit alternatives platform has $38bn in assets under management.

“We’re excited to add to our growing bench of private markets sales specialists,” said Ingo Heinen, global head of business development at Schroders Capital. “Sophie’s proven expertise and strong market relationships will be instrumental as we expand access to our leading private debt and credit capabilities for UK investors.”

Before joining Schroders Capital, Florentin-Siu led business development across Pimco’s top 30 UK institutional accounts and also worked in the firm’s wealth division, focusing on securing new fund allocations for sub-advised mandates.

Florentin-Siu will report to Heinen and to Philip Middleton, head of the UK client group at Schroders.

“With investors increasingly looking to explore scalable, thematic income, they are turning to opportunities in private debt and credit alternatives, from infrastructure debt to securitised products and asset-based finance,” said Middleton. “We’re delighted to welcome Sophie. This appointment underscores our commitment to the UK market and our focus on meeting the complex needs of clients, where we continue to lead the way in unlocking access to private markets.”
