QUALIFICATIONS:
Job Summary
The Youth Apprenticeship Specialist promotes and recruits participants for
NTC’s Youth Apprenticeship program while building strong relationships with K12 partners, employers, and community members. This role
involves training School-Based Coordinators, coordinating program logistics, and managing student cases. The Specialist collaborates with
the Marketing department, assists with grant submissions, and supports the transition from Youth Apprenticeship to Registered Apprenticeship
pathways.
Note: This is a grant-funded position.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The
following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job
duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodation.
Program Promotion and
Recruitment
- Promote and recruit students and employers to participate in the Youth Apprenticeship (YA) program within NTC’s
district. - Showcase program benefits to students, schools, and community partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships
with K12 schools, community partners, employers, and students.
Training and Support
- Train School-Based Coordinators
(SBCs) on YA program policies, practices, and required paperwork. - Provide guidance and support to SBCs, addressing any
program-related questions or concerns. - Communicate updates from the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) to consortium members
and employers.
Program Administration and Coordination
- Lead and coordinate YA Steering Committee meetings, including
preparation and follow-up with SBCs and employer partners. - Manage registration and end-of-year paperwork in collaboration with the
YA team. - Support K12 schools in case management for students, handling unique situations as needed.
- Oversee data management
and organizational tasks for the YA program.
Communication and Collaboration
- Collaborate with NTC Marketing to update
promotional materials, website content, and student-focused videos. - Work with DWD staff to address program issues or
concerns. - Promote the transition from Youth Apprenticeship to Registered Apprenticeship (RA) by partnering with Workforce Training
and Professional Development (WTPD) and other key stakeholders.
Grant Support
- Assist the YA Regional
Coordinator/Student Recruitment Manager in the grant submission process, including writing and updating narratives, reviewing budgets, and
preparing submission materials.
Minimum Qualifications Required

this position.
Education: Associate’s Degree (or Equivalent)

preferably in a higher education or K12 setting. Strong customer service and case management skills. - Ability to foster positive
