A trip to Disneyland is on plenty of travelers’ bucket lists, especially for theme park fans and families looking to soak up the magic of Walt Disney’s original park. While there are plenty of hotels in Anaheim that fit most budgets, the best options offer guests comfortable, family-friendly accommodations; easy access to the theme parks and the Downtown Disney District; plus sprinkles of pixie dust throughout your stay. I’ve stayed at nearly all of these properties over the years and have had an exceptional experience at each one of them.
The best Disneyland hotels are broken down into two categories: hotels within the Disneyland borders, and hotels near the park. Whether you stay at one of the on-site resorts or one within walking distance of the gates really comes down to a matter of preference. Just know that one of the perks of staying at a Disney-owned hotel will change beginning January 5, 2026: Instead of 30 minutes of early park entry, guests will get one skip-the-line pass (called Lightning Lane) for any of the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass eligible attractions to use during their visit.
Most of the hotels on this list, including the Disney-owned properties, are about a 10- to 15-minute walk to the parks, so no matter where you stay, you’ll be on your favorite ride in no time. For me, that means waking up early to get in line for Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride at Disneyland Park, or Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: Breakout! at Disney California Adventure.
