Position Summary
The Walter Center for Career Achievement in College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University invites application for full-time (10
month; August – May) non-tenure track position of Visiting Lecturer. We seek an individual with expertise in student development, career
development and/or life design who is committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. The candidate will teach up to 18
credits (9 per semester), in courses, including: ASCS Q295: Design Your Life and Career, ASCS Q299: Build Your Professional Story for the
Job and Internship Search, and ASCS Q300: Design Your Career and Tell Your Story. Position will begin August 1, 2026.The Walter Center for
Career Achievement exists to empower every Arts + Sciences student to turn their diverse talents and passions into successful and rewarding
careers. The Visiting Lecturer position will be part of the Walter Center team and will serve a critical role in meeting the goal of career
education and planning for every Arts & Sciences student.
Basic Qualifications
A master’s degree in a related field is
required. Content expertise in life design and/or career readiness and prior teaching experience is preferred. Candidates should have strong
communication and organizational skills, and a team-oriented approach to work. Salary is $54,000, commensurate with experience and full
benefits are included.
Departmental Responsibilities:
- Teach 18 credit hours of ASCS coursework per academic year
- Collaborate with teaching team in curriculum and lesson development
- Engage in Walter Center team meetings, including Career
Education team and All Staff - Participate in professional development in life design, career development, teaching, coaching, and
other topics as appropriate - Contribute to and maintain shared teaching resources, lessons, curriculum, and course evaluation and
improvement plans - Represent teaching team in opportunities to share and explain curriculum to stakeholders
