The Director of Operations provides leadership and oversight for the operational, logistical, and communications
infrastructure that supports employer engagement and career-related programming at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). Reporting to
the Executive Director, the role is responsible for ensuring efficient, consistent, and high-quality operational support for employer
visits, events, systems, communications, and platforms that connect students and employers.
The Director of Operations leads the
Operations Support unit, supervises professional staff and student employees, manages workflows and processes across functional areas, and
partners closely with Employer Engagement, Data Analytics, and campus stakeholders to enable scalable, data-informed, and student-centered
engagement activities.
Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and oversight for
the Operations Support unit, ensuring efficient execution of employer visits, events, communications, and career-related operational
activities aligned with institutional priorities.
Supervise, train, and evaluate professional staff and student employees across
operations, systems support, communications, and events, establishing clear expectations, workflows, and performance standards.
Oversee operational and technical support for career-related platforms and systems (e.g., Handshake and related tools), ensuring
effective use by students, employers, and staff.
Coordinate logistics for employer visits, on-campus recruitment activities, career
fairs, information sessions, and related events, ensuring smooth execution and positive partner experiences.
Lead communication and
event promotion efforts in coordination with Employer Engagement and campus partners to ensure students, faculty, and employers are informed
of opportunities and programming.
Collaborate closely with the Director of Employer Engagement, Data Analytics, and other Office of
Engagement and Impact staff to align operational support with engagement strategies and data-informed priorities.
Support the
Executive Director with operational planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives related to employer engagement
infrastructure.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory
