About This Role
The School of Continuing Education and Workforce
Development (CEWD) is an exciting and entrepreneurial office within the College which offers a wide variety of non-credit classes, courses,
seminars and training sessions for the community. These offerings are focused on revitalizing careers, upgrading skills and credentials,
growing businesses and pursuing pastimes and passions. Additionally, Hudson for Business (HFB) is the area leader in developing and
delivering educational classes and programs for Hudson County’s businesses, organizations and individuals. Join a winning team focused on

Reporting to the Program Manager, SWDTP
in CEWD, the Student Success Coach, will work collaboratively with the academic, workforce, and student services offices, students,
employers, community partners, and faculty to successfully implement the Shipyard Workforce Development and Training Program (SWDTP) to
ensure student support and success. The Student Success Coach will work from both the employer site and also the Journal Square Campus.
Summary of Duties
What You’ll Do:
- Connect students with
academic and non-academic services. - Ensure that supportive services and additional training as needed are occurring for the
participants.
- Provide resources, referrals, and information to assist students in navigating the college.
- Develop information sessions for recruitment to enroll eligible participants for SWDTP.
- Manage the enrollment process for
workforce programs. - Coordinate the workforce training courses.
- Assist incoming students with the transition to the
College by engaging in conversations about time management, study skills, and test-taking strategies. - Integrate data-informed
decision-making and evidence-based practices into daily work.
- Become a subject matter expert on college programs and
services, to support the student’s journey to success. - Create training schedules for programs, track data points, create reports on
training outcomes, and maintain training records on participants.
- Collaboratively plan monthly tasks that enhance the
student experience. - Maintain documentation, data, and reports to monitor student success and retention rates.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external program partners to ensure continuous improvement and success of the program.
- Execute a communication plan consisting of regular communication to inform students of important dates and action steps
in the workforce journey.
- Participate in all aspects of student and program evaluation.
- Keep accurate
records and inventory related to the project.
- Ensure compliance with program requirements and participate in the program
evaluation process. - Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques and use the knowledge to prepare and
coordinate future training sessions. - Prepare reports as required.
- Perform other related duties as delegated or assigned by
your supervisor.

Need:
Education and Experience
- Minimum Associate’s degree: required in any industry/field.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - 2 Years of Experience: working in a multicultural, urban environment coordinating workforce training
activities in higher education, a public workforce setting, or other related setting.
Competencies and
Skills
- Proficiency working with various computer software programs including Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel
and AI. - Proven ability to manage up and down to achieve successful results.
- Technology Skills: The department relies on
technology to scale its efforts. We need individuals skilled in database management, spreadsheets, video conferencing, email management,
word processing, electronic presentations, and AI. - Engagement Skills: This concept is robust and inclusive – engaging internal and
external constituents for the first time, customer services skills, and marketing skills. Attention to detail and the ability to write well
