Primary Purpose:
Oversees, develops, expands
and implements opportunities for experiential learning and/or service learning for NSU University School students within the various centers
at NSU as well as in the broader community.
Job Category: Exempt

Essential Job Functions:
1. Provides beyond the classroom opportunities for able and ambitious
students.
2. Develops collaborative opportunities with NSU Centers.
3. Works with Center of Psychological Studies to develop
programming and student support services with graduate students in the Education Psychology program.
4. Develops additional opportunities
for students through the NSU University School’s independent research programs, science mentorship program, Shark Capstone Experience,
academic teams and NSU collaborations.
5. Arranges, monitors and supervises the details of student placement in fellowships and community
service including student supervision as needed.
6. Develops and publishes a current list of summer enrichment activities for
students.
7. Serves as the NSU University School coordinator/liaison to NSU Community Outreach database, Quantum Engagement and Quality
Enhancement Programs.
8. Develops professional development opportunities for faculty members to support them in project-based
learning.
9. Carries out assessments designed to understand student needs, monitors the success of outreach activities, and effectively
gauges student learning.
10. Liaison between students, parents, colleges, departments, and other units prior to, during, and after the
educational experiences.
11. Develops and maintains forms and documents for program management. Maintains confidential student files,
records and databases, both electronic and hardcopy and utilizes data for department reports, planning, and evaluation.
12. Works with
faculty, students and staff to develop short-term programs.
13. Assists in the identification of sources of funding to support these
programs.
14. Develops learning outcomes and appropriate assessment methods to improve programmatic efforts and learning
opportunities.
15. Plans and implements recognition programs, receptions, and celebrations.
16. Works with NSU Ex EL representatives
to expand the five Ex EL pillars at NSU University School (Faculty mentored research, experiential coursework, professional growth,
community engagement, travel exploration).
17. Serves as a representative to NSU Experiential Education and Learning Advising
Council.
18. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements:
Required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Possess superior facilitation skills.
2. Demonstrated leadership ability.
3. An
understanding of college counseling and planning for students.
Required Certifications/Licensures:
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Major (if required:

Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in placement, career development and counseling.
