Celebrate and donate – Big Give Christmas Challenge 2023

It’s official: Christmas is nearly here…

For some, the holiday season is a time of celebration and joy. Unfortunately, not everyone has the same experience. For some of the most vulnerable people across the UK (and abroad), Christmas can be the toughest time of year – and the time they need the most support.

That’s why we’re proud to support the UK’s biggest match-funded campaign: Big Give’s Christmas Challenge 2023.

What is The Christmas Challenge?

The Christmas Challenge is an annual match-funded campaign, set up every year by Big Give.

For seven days, the challenge offers you the chance to have your donations doubled to participating charities. The money is matched through funders (philanthropists, foundations or corporates) – so a £50 donation becomes £100 for a good cause.

Last year the challenge raised £28.6 million for over 1,000 charities and this year the Big Give is aiming to support a wide variety of charities, so you’re bound to find a cause that’s close to your heart.

When is The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2023?

The campaign launches every year on #GivingTuesday – a day of global giving around the world. That means that you’ll be able to donate this year from 28th November – 5th December.

What is The Big Give?

Our founder, Sir Alec Reed, created The Big Give in 2007. He wanted to create a matching platform for charities, funders and the public that multiplied generosity to make a lasting impact in the world, much like how Reed.co.uk matches people to jobs.

What are we doing at Reed.co.uk?

Every year at Reed.co.uk our co-members choose a participating charity to support. This year we’ve selected Re-Engage, which is a charity that aims to reduce loneliness amongst older people by providing vital social connections and friendships to people who are feeling lonely or isolated.
