SJP partner firm Apollo appoints head of wealth management

Apollo Private Wealth has appointed Kenton Wallace as head of wealth management.

The firm is one of the largest and fastest growing St James’s Place (SJP) partner practices.

Wallace will oversee wealth management, strategy and transformation “to evolve and scale” Apollo’s financial advice business.

Previously, Wallace spent almost 17 years at HSBC where he held various roles including regional wealth technical director, high-net-worth (HNW) wealth director, wealth and banking sales director and direct financial services manager.

Most recently, he was director of global product governance.

Apollo Private Wealth founder and CEO Nauman Gondal said: “We are tremendously excited to welcome Kenton to the senior management team. His unique skillset will complement the talent and specialisms that exist across Apollo.

“His appointment comes at an important time for Apollo as we continue to scale, underscoring our commitment to provide an exemplary standard of financial advice and service to our clients.”

In April 2023, Apollo acquired Cambridgeshire-based fellow SJP firm Debra Wait Wealth Management.

This move has resulted in Apollo’s assets under management (AUM) rising to £300m. Both SJP firms offer financial advice to clients.

Apollo stated this deal supports its continued growth strategy in the high net space and shows how SJP partnerships offer “a range of succession planning, phased retirement and growth options”.

Debra Wait, director of Debra Wait Wealth Management, plans to remain active in the business for at least the next 18 months to aid the transition for clients.
