Straddling the border between Missouri and Kansas, this Midwestern hub offers loads of culture in a small-town package, inviting travelers to linger for at least a few days. And with the city set to host matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, there’s really never been a better time to plan your next visit.
Luckily, KC’s luxury hotel scene is not just on the rise—it’s fully arrived. When I moved to the city back in 2015, accommodations were pretty much limited to big brands catering to business travelers, plus slightly stuffy historic properties.
