This full-time, 9.5-month position (working late July – early May) will plan, organize, and assist with the delivery of Career Services to students, faculty, staff, and external partners. Primary areas of emphasis involve career coaching, programming, presentations, supervising student employees, employer engagement, First-Destination Survey reporting, and marketing.
Essential Functions of the Job
Career Coaching (30%)
- Lead in-person and virtual student appointments on career development, including career exploration, job and internship searching strategies, resume and cover letter reviews, interview preparation, networking, and negotiation.
- Source and develop career development resources for campus.
Programming & Presentations (20%)
- Plan and deliver career development events and workshops, including classroom presentations.
- Collaborate with Grand View employees to plan and deliver career fairs and employer events.
- Present at and assist with Welcome Week, visit days, and other student events.
Supervising Student Employees (10%)
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all Career Peer Coaches in the Career Center.
Employer Engagement (10%)
- Connect and communicate with employers, encouraging employers to recruit Grand View students for jobs and internships.
- Complete employer, job, and event approvals in Handshake.
- Assist employers with posting their positions in Handshake and promoting their opportunities to campus.
First-Destination Survey Reporting (10%)
- Contribute to First-Destination Survey reporting by contacting graduates, collecting career outcomes, and inputting data into Handshake.
Marketing (10%)
- Market and promote career-related events and resources.
- Write and edit content for office publications and electronic communications.
Additional Responsibilities (10%)
- Identify and develop effective partnerships and opportunities to work collaboratively with faculty, students, staff, and employers to enhance student learning and career development.
- Support Director with strategic initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience (experience in career services, human resources, or employment recruiting preferred).
- Experience advising students, supervising others, planning events, and presenting in front of groups preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and events independently.
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with career services platforms (e.g., Handshake) or CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams.
- Positively interact with students, faculty, staff, employers, and other GV constituents, representing Grand View and the Career Center in a positive manner.
