Job Description
The Coordinator of Career Success is a full-time, professional staff member in the Division of Academic Affairs, reporting to the Assistant Director of Career Success. This position supervises four Career Peers.
Career Success provides education and services to approximately 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Arts & Sciences, the School of Business Administration, and the School of Music, as well as alumni from each program. Career Success is a team of six full-time staff, including an Executive Director, Director, Associate Director, Assistant Director, Coordinator, and Administrative Specialist. Part-time staff include two Graduate Assistants, two Office Assistants, four Career Peers, and a Marketing Assistant.
Career Peers are undergraduate Stetson students who collaborate with their peers to provide effective, high-quality career services. Career Peers provide services to all students regarding career skills and exploration; career and graduate school decision-making; and job, internship, and graduate school searching and applications. Career Peers work closely with Career Success staff to market the office and occasionally deliver career-related outreach programming to various student groups and organizations. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Employment duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide major and career exploration and internship advising to students across the three Colleges and Schools
- Support the Hatter Chats Alumni-Student Networking program
- Develop and implement programming to increase students’ awareness of career education and internship opportunities
- Emphasize facilitating social mobility through equitable access to connections and experiences for all students, regardless of background or social capital
- Deliver career advising to students and alumni seeking to explore majors/careers, internship opportunities, and job searching
- Support Stetson’s efforts around certifications, including (but not limited to) tracking student participation, researching certifications, proctoring certifications, and marketing
- Actively support career events and initiatives such as Internship and Career Expos, Employer Takeovers, and other career programming
- Supervise and manage four Career Peers and the Career Drop-In Area
- Deliver presentations and workshops to various constituents about career services and opportunities
- Collaborate with Academic Success in supporting Discovery students and the Career 201 module (a career tutorial registration requirement) communication
- Collaborate with the Cross Cultural Center and WORLD International Learning Center to support students
- Represent Career Success on committees and teams, as well as associations outside the University, where appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned related to the University’s, Division’s, and CS’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities

Required Qualifications: This position requires:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Two years of experience in an area related to business, education, and higher education are preferred
Work authorization sponsorship may be available for this position.
