Director of Career Engagement

Position Summary:
The Director of Career Engagement advances student learning and post-graduate success through a comprehensive, student-centered career development program. This role provides leadership in employer relations, career advising, and job search support, including résumé and cover letter development, interview preparation, networking strategies, and effective use of career-related technology platforms. The Director also supports internship development and placement, offers guidance on graduate and professional school opportunities, and delivers programming that prepares students for meaningful careers. This position collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and external partners to integrate career readiness across the student experience.
Job Functions:
1. Develop and lead a comprehensive career services program that supports student and alumni career success.
2. Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with employers, corporate partners, and campus stakeholders to expand internship, externship, and full-time employment opportunities.
3. Design and implement experiential learning initiatives, with a focus on internship development and placement.
4. Oversee and manage Handshake (or otherwise) for internship and job postings, employer engagement, and student utilization.
5. Create, coordinate, and promote career-related programming, including workshops, career fairs, and skill-building sessions (résumé development, job search strategies, interviewing, and professional readiness).
6. Provide individualized career advising to students and alumni.
7. Collaborate with academic departments, admissions, and student success offices to integrate career development into the student experience
8. Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of career outcomes data.
9. Organize the purchase and disbursement of graduation regalia for eligible students.
10. Engage in professional associations and community partnerships to enhance visibility and advance career services initiatives
11. Perform other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution.
2. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills are required.
3. Well-developed skills to multitask, think critically, and creatively solve problems.
4. A positive attitude and willingness to contribute collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with web design, social media platforms, and data analytics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
