Balqis Capital private credit product

Dubai-headquartered Balqis Capital has launched a flagship private credit investment product for professional investors, allocating across a range of assets including litigation finance and asset-backed lending.

The Balqis Capital Bond offers a fixed return of 10.25 per cent per annum and is listed on the Euronext Vienna exchange, which offers daily liquidity, the investment firm claims.

The portfolio is allocated across litigation finance, structured debt, asset-backed lending and pre-IPO equity opportunities.

“We designed this bond to give professional investors access to high-quality private credit in a way that’s structured, diversified and transparent,” said Mary Trimithiotou, chief financial officer of Balqis Capital.

“It reflects the evolution of income investing, away from volatility and into opportunity.”

Balqis Capital focuses on litigation funding and facilitating private credit opportunities for businesses, according to its website.

The Middle East is experiencing strong growth in its private credit market, boosted by investment from the region’s sovereign wealth funds, as well as a supportive regulatory and tax environment.

Over the next five to six years, the Gulf Cooperation Countries and Egypt private credit market is expected to grow between 15 and 30 per cent per year, to between $11bn (£8.35bn) and $20bn, according to PwC research.
