Private markets asset manager HarbourVest Partners has appointed Brian Taranto to the newly-created role of managing director and chief operating officer (COO) of global private wealth.
In the role, Taranto will be responsible for helping to scale the firm’s global private markets platform and working with the head of global private wealth Venu Krishnamurthy to drive the growth of the wealth business.
He joins HarbourVest from Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he served as managing director and COO for the U.S. Intermediary Distribution business.

HarbourVest’s global private wealth business provides financial advisers, private banks, family offices, and wealth management firms with access to the the firm’s private markets platform, which includes private credit as well as private equity primaries and secondaries and infrastructure.
