Loyal North latest acquisition brings in £40m client funds

Loyal North has announced the acquisition of financial planning firm Quay Financial Planning to boost the company’s presence in the east of England.

The acquisition will also bring a total of £40m of client funds to Loyal North that now manages over £1.6bn in client wealth nationally.

Loyal North was originally created to grow and support local UK financial planning businesses and acquires firms with strong local branding.

Quay Financial Planning is based in Kings Lynn and will join Loyal North’s regional hub, GPFM Chartered Financial Planners based in Hertfordshire.

Quay Financial Planning principal Katie Hately will join GPFM as a senior financial planner.

Hately said: “Our business prides itself on providing excellent financial planning and putting our clients at the heart of the business, and that is why the team at GPFM, and the personalised and regionalised approach of Loyal North made them the perfect partners for us.

“As part of Loyal North, we are also excited to access the opportunity with its central support and resources, these will enable us to grow whilst keeping our focus on our clients.”

In a statement, GPFM joint managing directors Scott Atkinson and Simon Frost added: “We are both thrilled to welcome Katie and the Quay team to GPFM Chartered Financial Planners and the wider Loyal North group.

“This acquisition marks a further step in our growth plans for Loyal North’s east of England.  Katie has built an excellent business and we are looking forward to driving the next phase of growth for our combined businesses.”

Loyal North group acquisition director Debbie Dry said: “Katie and the Quay team are a great addition to our group and to GPFM. We look forward to supporting these businesses as they grow and build on the excellent service they provide to clients.”

Also, in August, Loyal North announced the acquisition of financial advice firm Paul Wallis Financial Solutions.

It is based in West Malling, Kent and has been serving clients for over 13 years.

The business will join Loyal North’s regional firm H&D Financial Planning, based in Maidstone, Kent.
