Position Details
The Manager of Employer Development and
Partnerships in the Office of Career Services at The University of Tampa will lead, manage, and facilitate strategies to develop
sustained partnerships to increase the number and range of internship, employment, and community opportunities for students and graduates.
Ultimately through these partnerships and retention focused programs, will support the presidential initiative for students to complete paid
internships, state their professional careers in the Tampa Bay area, and create long-term community partnerships for UTampa. This position
reports to the Executive Director of Career Services. As a member of the Office of Student Affairs, this position will uphold the values of
diversity and inclusion, collaboration, personal responsibility, professionalism and community and citizenship. The work of this position
will intentionally align with strategic priorities to advance the mission and vision of student affairs which results in student learning
and support for students to grow as global citizens.
Responsibilities:
1. Set and support overall employer development
and engagement strategy by incorporating increased priority on internship opportunity development as part of the Internships for All
presidential initiative.
2. Develop, organize, and implement an innovative strategic plan, goals, and procedures for providing
community and corporate partners with opportunities to connect to The University of Tampa students and alumni.
3. Support UTampa’s
efforts to provide workforce career readiness programming for students by regularly engaging community partners on competencies sought,
marketing of Spartan Ready and Spartan Studies, and identification of latest industry trends.
4. Supervise the Employer Events
Coordinator.
5. Explore the feasibility of a Corporate Advisory Board through engagement of campus partners including the Office of
Advancement, key college specific stakeholders, and community supporters.
6. In coordination with Employer Relations team, support
employer focused programs including traditional networking events programming, annual recruiting trends event and new initiatives to mirror
current or future hiring trends and industry.
7. Manage high volume of external community relationships to identify meaningful
community partnerships such as Economic Development Corporation, Tampa Bay Chamber, local non-profits, and national organizations.
8.
Meet with faculty members and other university stakeholders to articulate the needs of the non-profit community and interests of corporate
partners.
9. Collect, analyze, and report data on employer services, relationships, and results of recruiting relationships; i.e.,
job offers, applicant tracking, and on-campus exposure.
10. Represent the university at related functions on campus, in community and
with business organizations (Chamber of Commerce).
11. Engage employers in 1st and 2nd year experiences to create connections via
internships and experiential education opportunities.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Bachelor’s degree from
related field plus minimum of seven (7) years related experience or Master’s degree from a SACS accredited or equivalent institution in
student personnel, higher education, student affairs, or related degree and three (3) years of experience.
2. One to Three (1-3)
years’ experience with supervision/leadership responsibilities highly preferred.
3. Must have relationship development experience
working with variety of community and business organizations; for example, local Chamber of Commerce’s professional associations and
non-profit organizations.
4. High level of customer service, hospitality industry; collaboration, exceptional work ethic; attention
to detail; organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through ability.
5. Proficiency with MS Office and database management
experience.
6. Familiarity with career management/job posting technology (Handshake, 12Twenty, Salesforce).
7. Excellent
written, oral, interpersonal communication skills needed as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.
8.
Ability to speak effectively before groups, at networking programs, and community events is critical.
9. Ability to work
evenings/weekends as required; This is an in-person role.
