Meet the new Fiat Panda – a flexible family model with five variants: city car, SUV, sporty fast-back, pick-up truck and even a camper on offer.

The Italian car company will unveil the first production city car version on July 11 this year to celebrate its milestone 125th anniversary — with a new ‘fun and functional’ variant launched every year after that in a choice of electric, mild hybrid and petrol options.

Bigger than the current Panda (first launched in 1980 and now in its third generation) and described as a ‘Mega-Panda’.

Fiat said that its design and interior dashboard were inspired by the iconic Lingotto building in Turin, with its famous oval rooftop test track — once Fiat’s headquarters that boasted a chase scene location for the classic 1969 The Italian Job movie, starring Michael Caine and Noel Coward.

Audi A3 range given a refresh

Audi’s popular premium A3 range — first launched in 1996 — has been given a refresh that involves sportier looks, a technology boost and a comfier interior trim.

It’s one of nine new Audis set to hit the market over the next two years.

Available as hatchback, sportback and saloon, two A3 engine options are available from launch — a 148bhp 1.5-litre TFSI petrol and 148bhp 2.0-litre TDI diesel, both with seven- speed automatic gear-boxes, and a six-speed manual option for petrol.

A plug-in hybrid will be added at the end of the year and expect a sporty S3.

A3 orders begin mid-April, with the range expected to start from around £30,000.
