The mission of the LMU Loyola Law School (LLS) is to deliver excellence in legal education with a deep concern for social justice, guided by the values of anti-racism, equity, and inclusion. The new Recruitment Coordinator will carry forward this mission by providing support to the Career Development Office and to the most important constituency of our law school community, our students. Located in downtown Los Angeles, LLS had one of the most diverse student bodies in the nation.
Support the Career Development Office (CDO) by (1) coordinating the CDO’s Recruitment Programs (e.g., On-Campus Interview (OCI), Resident Associate Program (RAP), and Law Firm Reception), resume collections, and other recruitment events, (2) reviewing and approving job listings and managing various employer and student communications to/from the CDO, (3) updating/maintaining employer and job placement data, and (4) providing various assistance as needed with CDO operations, events, and communications.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
On-Campus Interview (OCI) & Other Recruitment Programs:

Coordinate the CDO’s multiple OCI and resume collect programs in accordance with internal timelines. Identify target employers and send invitations to recruiting programs; review/approve employer registrations and job descriptions; follow up with employers as necessary to ensure job descriptions are accurate/clear; track employer fee payments; alert students of deadlines and guide them through the OCI/resume collect process; collect and send applications to employers for review/pre-selection; design and coordinate virtual interview schedules in 12twenty and Flo Recruit; edit schedules as necessary and communicate with employers/students; troubleshoot any virtual interview issues. Keep CDO counselors informed of status/issues. Track OCI/resume collect outcomes and employer fee payments; report findings to department staff.

Coordinate with CDO counselors to run the Resident Associate Program, Law Firm Reception, and other recruitment events.

Represent the law school in the Los Angeles Area Legal Recruitment Association (LAALRA). Attend LAALRA meetings and network with other LAALRA members.
Employer and Student Relations:

Greet speakers/visitors, answer phone calls, and monitor voicemails and emails received in the department inbox. Respond and address in a timely manner questions/requests received from employers and students, such as assistance with creating job listings and questions about CDO programs. Follow up with employers and students as needed to ensure questions have been addressed. Inform applicable counselors of incoming questions and outcomes in a timely manner.

Review, post, and approve job listings on 12twenty, ensuring that the listings conform to the CDO’s standards and policies.

Prepare weekly student newsletters, promote jobs/employers to students, and schedule counselor appointments. Assist in tracking the scheduling status of mandatory student/counselor meetings.

Guide students seeking access to other law schools’ job platforms via reciprocity by participating schools.
Employer and Job Placement Data Management:

In collaboration with the CDO’s administrative team, maintain and update employer records in the 12twenty database and on spreadsheets; generate reports for counselors upon request.

In collaboration with the CDO’s administrative team, research and track various employer data, including employer-hosted events, direct application sites, and profiles.

Track outcomes from CDO’s various recruitment programs, including OCI, Resident Associate Program, etc. Collect summer employment information from students. Send surveys and enter responses into 12twenty.

In collaboration with the CDO’s administrative team, assist in the maintenance of student and graduate profiles in the 12twenty database; generate reports for counselors upon request.
Office Operations:

With the Career Development Data & Operations Specialist, recruit and interview work-study students. Train new student employees to add job listings to 12twenty.

Provide event support for various departments and law school programs.

Provide administrative support to department staff.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The Law School reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Requisite Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree is required. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep current with regulation/policy changes in higher education

Demonstrated knowledge and skills in outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills to interact with students, graduates, staff, faculty, and employers.

Strong problem-solving skills to analyze and resolve issues, and when necessary, to take initiative to answer questions and to follow up on concerns.
Hiring Salary:
$29.71 hourly
Work Schedule:
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in the office.

Salary range
