Top Tier Trader Review - Benzinga

Top Tier Trader Ratings at a Glance

TopTier Trader offers undercapitalized but experienced traders an opportunity to prove their trading expertise and access funding via its two-phase evaluation model. After completing the evaluation, traders are offered a place in the firm, allowing them to remotely manage funds and expand their accounts via a scaling plan. The prop firm provides traders with a choice of two evaluation program account options:

  • TopTier Challenge evaluation program accounts that encompass Regular TopTier Challenge and Swing TopTier Challenge evaluation program accounts.
  • TopTier Challenge Plus evaluation program account

TTT offers various account sizes at different prices to accommodate the needs of traders or investors with varying experience levels and financial situations. These account sizes remain consistent across all programs, ranging from $10,000, suitable for beginners, to $300,000, ideal for experts. Here’s a breakdown of the evaluation program accounts.

The Regular TopTier Challenge Program Account

The Regular TopTier Challenge evaluation program is designed to identify dedicated and skilled traders who demonstrate consistency during the two-phase evaluation period, rewarding them for their performance. To pass the evaluation for phase one, you must hit a 10% profit target without exceeding the 5% maximum daily loss and 10% maximum loss. To break this down, let’s say you’re a beginner who decided to go for the $10,000 account size. Your goal is to achieve a 10% profit target, which in this case would be $1,000 (10% of $10,000).

During the trading day, you must stay within a maximum daily loss limit of 5% of your closing balance for the previous day or the starting balance for the current day. This means that if your account balance drops to or below 5% in a single trading day, you’ve violated the drawdown rules. In this example, a 5% loss would be $500 (5% of $10,000). So you must not reach or exceed $500 in losses in a given trading day, or your starting balance shouldn’t drop to or fall below $9,500. Remember that your previous day’s closing balance differs from your starting or initial capital.

The calculation assumes that you initiated trading today, in which case, your starting balance for the current day equals your starting or initial capital. After the first trading, you may close with a profit or loss, which is fine, guaranteed it is still within the drawdown limit. Assuming you recorded a loss of $100, your closing balance will be $9,900, which becomes your starting balance for the next trading day. Applying the 5% maximum daily loss means that you must not reach or exceed $495 (5% of $9,900) in losses, or your account drops to or below $9,405.

Additionally, you must not exceed a maximum loss limit of 10% for the entire evaluation phase. The 10% refers to your starting equity or initial capital. So if your loss exceeds $1,000 (10% of $10,000) loss of 10% at any point during the evaluation, you won’t pass the first phase. Additionally, you must maintain a minimum of four trading days. There are no maximum trading days. Once you meet the conditions, TopTier will automatically email you the credentials for phase two within 36 to 48 hours. A violation of any of the rules disqualifies you from proceeding to the second evaluation stage.

The same drawdown rules and minimum trading day apply for the phase two evaluation. However, the profit target is now 5%, which is significantly lower. The Regular challenge account doesn’t support copy trading, expert advisor (EA) use, weekend trading or swing trading on weekends. The leverage is 1:100 for forex, 1:30 for indices, 1:20 for crypto and 1:40 for gold and commodities.

The Swing TopTier Challenge Program Account

TTT Challenge Swing account follows the same drawdown rules, profit target and minimum trading days for its phase one and two evaluation as the TTT Challenge Regular account. The core difference is in the leverages available for this account option. Because TTT Challenge Swing accounts allow traders to hold positions overnight and during weekends, the leverage for specific instruments is reduced to mitigate the potential risk of sudden price gaps or extreme market volatility.

So, unlike the TTT Challenge Regular account, the leverage is 1:30 for forex, 1:5 for indices, 1:1 for crypto and 1:10 for gold and commodities. However, this account doesn’t support the uses of EA and copy trading. But you can copy trade from both account types to the Challenge Plus account. Traders can also hold positions over the weekend on their TTT Challenge Swing account. Remember you’re eligible for a reset within 24 hours of failing your first evaluation for both Challenge Regular and Swing accounts.

TopTier Challenge Plus Evaluation Program Account

The Challenge Plus significantly differs from the two Challenge account options in various ways. To pass the phase one evaluation for this account type, you must achieve an 8% profit target without exceeding a maximum daily loss of 5% and a max overall drawdown of 8%. The 5% daily loss limit means your equity mustn’t exceed 5% of your daily starting account equity or balance, whichever is greater; the max overall drawdown entails that your equity mustn’t drop over 8% from your initial account balance. The same drawdown rules are applicable in phase two evaluation, but the profit target is considerably lower at 5%.

You must fulfill at least four trading days in both stages to get to the next level. There are no maximum trading days. The Challenge Plus supports copy trading, weekend and overnight trade and uses of EA if it conforms to live market conditions and can be replicated on TTT live capital. Like the two Challenge accounts, Challenge Plus allows a reset within 24 hours of failing phase one. The leverage for Challenge Plus is lowered for certain assets, which is understandable since it supports weekend and overnight holding.

The leverage is set at 1:100 for forex, 1:30 for indices, 1:2 for cryptocurrencies and 1:40 for gold and commodities. Remember that after 90 days of inactivity, your account will be disabled.

Account Merging

Once you have completed the evaluation and been funded, you can merge your account to access a more significant balance or account size of up to $600,000. You are eligible for account merging if you have two or more accounts at the initial balance and have not violated any drawdown or trading rules. However, you can only merge accounts of the same type — a TTT Funded Regular account can merge with another TTT Funded Regular account but not with a TTT Funded Swing or TTT Funded Plus account. You can request merging by contacting the team via email or live chat.

Scaling Plans

TopTier offers an impressive scaling plan for all funded accounts. The implication is that you can progressively grow your account size through consistent performance while increasing its potential earnings over time. To scale up, you must achieve profitability in at least two out of three months and maintain an average profit of 6% or higher over three months. Scaling up boosts your account size by 25% of your initial starting balance, and you can scale up to a maximum of $2 million.

For instance, assuming you now get funded, having passed both evaluation stages with your $10,000 account size (from the previous example), if you achieve profitability in two out of three months with a minimum of 6% profit, you will become eligible for a 25% increase in your account size through scaling. In the subsequent month, an extra $2,500 will be added to the original balance of your account. The $2,500 will be added to your account balance every three months, guaranteeing you’re meeting the 6% profitability until you hit the maximum of $2 million. With a Challenge Plus account, you become eligible for a 90% payout.

You can request an account review every three months to determine if you qualify for account scaling.

Competition and Affiliate Programs

TopTier Trader hosts a monthly competition, offering traders the chance to win a free challenge account based on their ranking, with accounts awarded to the top three positions. The prizes vary from a free $200,000 challenge account for the first position, a free $100,000 challenge account for the second position, to a free $50,000 challenge account for the third position. The drawdown rules for the competition are similar to those of TTT Challenge Regular and Swing accounts; you must not exceed 5% maximum daily loss and 10% overall loss.

Overnight and weekend trading is allowable, guaranteeing the asset is tradable over the weekend, such as crypto. You get disqualified if you violate the drawdown rules or your competition account remains inactive for 14 days. Registration is on the 15th of every month. TTT allows you to earn extra money via its affiliate program. You can earn between $7.5% to 20% via referral when you sign up for the program.

TopTier Trader offers round-the-clock customer support across multiple channels, including phone, live chat and email. The phone and live chat facilitate real-time responses and immediate assistance from the support team in under a minute. For inquiries or complaints that are less urgent and require detailed explanations, you can contact the support team via email. An even better means of accessing information regarding the company’s offerings directly without customer support is via the FAQ page.

The FAQ section on TTT’s website contains short articles on every aspect of the company’s core offerings, including minor details about each challenge account as well as the competition accounts and affiliate program. You can visit the company’s blog page for FX trading tips, risk management and trading psychology. TTT maintains an active presence on social networking and messaging platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Discord and Telegram. These platforms offer an extra way to connect, engage with the team and ask questions as needed. TTT has an impressive Trustpilot rating of 4.7/5 from over 2,700 reviewers, with an overwhelming positive comment reflecting the professionalism and efficiency of its customer support. Benzinga witnessed this professionalism firsthand and can attest to it.

TopTier Trader prioritizes user privacy protection and implements advanced encryption protocols to safeguard clients’ data. Like many online services, the company might use the personal information gathered during registration for tailored service delivery and marketing purposes. To safeguard sensitive information like personal details and financial transactions, during information transfer through its website, TTT employs Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, ensuring data remains secure and protected from unauthorized access and potential data breaches. TTT doesn’t sell or share user data to any third party except with explicit consent from the user or when mandated to do so via legal precedents. Users have the right to all information restriction, rectification, revocation, erasure and transferability of data and can request such by contacting TTT.

TopTier Traders offers affordable and transparent pricing for each account size across its multiple Challenge programs. While the account sizes are the same for the Challenge (Regular and Swing) and the Challenge Plus, the pricing differs. However, the Challenge Regular and Swing accounts have the exact pricing. The table below shows the pricing for each account size of the TTT program.

Account Sizes Challenge Regular Account (Pricing) Challenge Swing Account (Pricing) Challenge Plus Account (Pricing)
$10,000 $130 $130 $140
$25,000 $250 $250 $255
$50,000 $350 $350 $375
$100,000 $560 $560 $599

The prop firm accepts credit card and cryptocurrency payments, including BTC, BCH, LTC, USDC, ETH, DAI and DOGE. If you’re paying via crypto, you must make the payment within one hour of the Coinbase invoice being issued to avoid loss of payment. The notable aspect is that these fees are refundable. After completing the evaluation and submitting your initial payout request, TTT will refund your evaluation fee by including it in your payout. To receive a payout, you must submit a request having met the eligibility criteria from your dashboard. You’re eligible for your first payout 30 days from your first trade on the account and 14 days from your last payout subsequently.

Available payout methods include crypto (BTC, LTC, ETH and USDC) and Deel. TTT processes payout within 1 to 2 days of receiving confirmation regarding the amount and details (for crypto payout). For the Deel payout, you’ll need to create a Deel account with the same email you used to register on TTT. That way, TTT can quickly issue you a Deel contract from which you’ll get your payout. Keep in mind that you’re responsible for the transaction fees arising from your payout processing. You will only get paid if you complete your KYC via TTT’s verification partner, Sumsub.

TopTier Trader offers a comprehensive user experience with various evaluation program options catering to traders of different experience levels. The transparent evaluation process allows traders to showcase their skills and gain access to funding. Additionally, TTT’s scaling plan rewards consistent performance by increasing account size and potential payouts over time. The availability of free monthly competitions adds an extra layer of engagement and opportunity.

Traders can choose their preferred trading platform, including the MT4 platform, the cutting-edge MT5 and the robust Tradelocker platform. You can migrate from the Tradelocker to any of the MetaTrader platforms. Getting started is easy: just click “Get Funded” on the top right corner of the homepage to access the challenge options. Select your Challenge type and account sizes and click “Buy Now” to access the order preview page.

There, you can verify or select a new challenge program, account size, trading platform and payment method and provide your email, name and TTT account password. Proceed to payment on the next page. Once you pay, TTT will email you the login credentials to your trading platform. If you don’t have an account, then you must sign up before paying for a challenge. Benzinga considers TopTier Trader highly recommendable.

TopTier Trader vs. Competitors

TopTier Trader has a few competitors similar to the Funded Traders, FundedNext and MyForexFunds. These platforms streamline fund accessibility for undercapitalized traders, enabling them to trade diverse instruments. Compared to these industry leaders, TTT’s core competitive edge is its superior customer support through highly professional and effective agents. This has earned the firm a lot of dedicated clients, as reflected in their Trustpilot review. TTT almost does not regulate your trading style. Depending on your challenge program, you can hold overnight and weekend trading, copy trading, news trading and use EAs to trade.

TopTier Trader is a prop trading firm that offers traders the opportunity to prove their skills through an evaluation process, followed by a funded account. It caters to traders of different experience levels with various evaluation programs and account options. The firm emphasizes consistency and offers scaling plans that reward profitable traders with increased account sizes and potential payouts.

The straightforward account setup process, prompt and helpful customer support and availability of various trading platforms collectively contribute to a well-rounded and comprehensive trading experience. In addition, it offers a competitive payout with refundable initial fees. Overall, TopTier Trader stands out as a transparent and supportive platform for traders looking to access funding and advance their trading careers.
