Job Summary
The purpose of this
position is to serve as the Career Coach for Caswell County and oversee the Career Coach assigned to Person County. The Career Coach helps
high school students determine which Career Technical Program is the best fit for high school student or if a college transfer pathway is
best for the student.
Examples of Duties
Essential
Duties
- Recruits and registers eligible high school students from Caswell County to the Career and College Promise
Program (CCP), which includes students from Bartlett Yancey High School and home school students. - Oversees the Person County CCP
Program. - Reviews student applications, prints transcripts and gets them approved by the correct personnel.
- Works closely
with high school staff to enhance and build programming. - Hosts orientations and informational sessions for families.
- Meets
with local industry representatives about programming and student opportunities. - Administers Career Coach
assessments. - Completes the Career Coach yearly report.
- Conducts meetings throughout the year with faculty to review high
school scheduling and student issues. - Inputs grades into each high school’s database every semester.
Additional
Duties
- Collects data for the CCP program; evaluates growth and areas of improvement.
- Manages student book needs
and facilitates book code student pick up for each school. - Reviews memorandum agreements between schools and updates as needed.
- Collaborates with Marketing to create recruitment tactics and materials (fliers, newspaper articles, student highlights,
etc.). - Attends community events.
- Other duties as needed.
Supervisory
Responsibilities
Supervise, instruct, or train others through explanation, demonstration, and supervised practice or make
recommendations based on technical expertise; may have first-level supervisory duties including administration of performance feedback; or
coordinate work activity schedules for teams.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or
related field.
Two (2) years of experience in a community college or public-school setting is preferred.

Abilities
- Knowledge of Career and College Promise policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Career Coach
expectations and procedures. - Skilled in Microsoft Office products, familiar with various Student Information Systems, familiar with
various Learning Management Systems, and use of online meeting platforms.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and
in writing.

Physical Demands
This
job requires continuous talking or hearing; frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, and gripping or feeling with
hands, typing/repetitive movement. Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.

While

setting.
